Hi everybody, I was reading this thread like for an hourThank you very much, because I'm learning serbian from a few months ago. I want to ask something. How did you say Argentina in serbian, an argentinian?
Argentina - Argentina, Аргентина
Argentinian - Argentinac, Аргентинац (for guy)
- Argentinka, Аргентинка (for girl)
I have my latest homework for review.
zapaliti svijeću - fire extinguisher
jahati - ride/ride a horse
hladno - cold/cool
hrana - food/nutrition
Htjela bih --- do you want ---/want
Htjela bih putovati - do you want to travel
Tko je to - Who is this?
To je Davor - It is David
To je Katarina - It is katherine
Vidimo se sutra - see you tomorrow
daj mi - give me
u rano jutro - an early morning
Ne mogu - I cannot/can't
Da lik si umorna - Are you tired?
Ostani do kraj,
cekaj go denot nov sto se budi,
ljubi me i znaj,
ti si se sto sakam jas.
zapaliti svijeću - fire extinguisher -- looks more like "to light a candle" to me.
Htjela bih --- do you want ---/want --- I would like (feminine)
Htjela bih putovati - do you want to travel -- I would like to travel
bih is first person singular conditional.
Vidimo se sutra - see you tomorrow --- yes, literally though "see each other tomorrow"
daj mi - give me -- yes, but only use it with people you'd say "gimme" to (without "please") in English.
u rano jutro - an early morning --- in the early morning
Da lik si umorna - Are you tired? -- Probably "lik" is a typo, but just in case: Da li si umorna? (feminine), umoran (masculine).
Keep up the good work.

pthalo Hvala lepo!!!
can someone tell me what the difference between
Hvala ti puno and Hvala lepo is?
Ostani do kraj,
cekaj go denot nov sto se budi,
ljubi me i znaj,
ti si se sto sakam jas.
mmm this is easy Nur Demir. The difference is that the second one isn't correct! hehe
but.. on a serious note..
you can say
Hvala (ti) puno - thank you very much (thanks a lot)
or
Hvala (ti) lepo - which literally means thank you nicely
there is no difference.. And, you can insert "ti" in both variants..
Personally, I use Hvala ti lepo only when I want to tell someone "thanks for nothing!" but thats just me.. and in such case the words are said with special tone of voice.. So, before I confuse you, hvala lepo is a very polite way of saying thanks a lot
Hello!
I am from Bulgaria and I study at a university slavic filology (serbian and croatian).
Nur_Demir, I think Hvala puno and Hvala lepo both mean Thank you very much because in serbian there're more than one way to say it.
This forum is very interesting. I'll visit it often!![]()
Napravila sam jedan audio blog, jer treba da vežbam da govorim na srpskom, i ne samo pišem i čitam. (A više volim da pišem, jer ne vidi se koliko dugo razmišljam o padežima)
I made an audio blog because I need to practice talking in Serbian and not just writing and reading. (Though I do prefer to write because you can't see how long I spend thinking about cases)

Hvala ti puno!!
I understand what you are saying. The later is used with a sarcastic tone of voice .. hehe ..
Vlada, if I may make one correction to your english. I believe you where telling Pthalo that its "sweet" .. I believe it is a typo .. but just in case it was not, I wanted to explain the difference between "sweet" and "sweat" ..
Sweet is something that is good, cute, or sweet in taste like chocolate for example.
Sweat is what we do when we exercise alot, we sweat or perspire.
I hope I do not offend, I thought it pertinent.
