"Ποιος ταξιδεύει στα μάτια σου;
Και ποιός ξαγρυπνά στο κορμί σου;
Μάτια μπλε στα μεγάλα ταξίδια σου
Θα'μαι εδώ θα'μαι πάντα μαζί σου"
I hope you're not going to ask for a translation of "Η τέλεια παρεξήγηση". Don't get me wrong, I love the lyris, they're just beautiful, but they also contain "alkinooish" words like "αγαπηταριό" that don't really exist. lol :P
If you've taken an Ancient Greek class, you should listen to "Ida's Dactyls".
It's true that Ioannidis pronounces the words in accordance with the principles of Modern Greek, but it still sounds fascinating (and a bit odd).![]()
Yes ,,,... a little story from Jesus's parable of "The Prodigal Son" ... but, with a twist ... the story "we haven't heard" sort of thing ...
That is an excellent example of "poetic" language ... ... in fact reminiscent of 14th century (I think) "Border Chants" as they are known ......
... a very Alkinoos thing to do, if I may add ... I mean, him singing such verses ......
Then I should listen to "Ida's Dactyls", I'll keep that in my mind!
When I just "listen" to his songs, I can't really imagine that he's singing about something like that..
"Ποιος ταξιδεύει στα μάτια σου;
Και ποιός ξαγρυπνά στο κορμί σου;
Μάτια μπλε στα μεγάλα ταξίδια σου
Θα'μαι εδώ θα'μαι πάντα μαζί σου"
Ah, yeah... and his interpretations of traditional Cypriot songs (his latest album). You'll hear the beauty of the Cypriot dialect.
P.S. But above all, his own songs of course.He's an incredible songwriter and singer. A tender and wise one, I'd say.
You can find "Ida's Dactyls" on the CD "Synantisi" ("Ιδαίοι δάκτυλοι").
