I always try to practice Greek there but everyone in Athens speak perfect English, God you Greeks are too clever... i have been to parts of northern Greece, like Drama, Thessaloniki, Alexandroupoli, Didimoteixo and most people were speaking English perfectly only in Soufli i saw many people who couldnt speak English at all but it turned out that they spoke Turkish... hahaha... oh sweet God, i never saw any country where soo many speak english so well, and i have been to most countries in Europe. I just adore your cleverness... send me some of it please... if you can...

Well, I don't think that we are so smart. We learn english cause no one learns greek. We have to communicate with the others and english is the ''international'' language (in the vote Greek language came second!)

I'm from Serres, but now I study in Thessaloniki. But when I don't university I'm in Serres with my family.

Greek should have come first, because it is only when a person learns Greek, they start really understanding their own languages. I used to use many Turkish words everyday i only learned what they really mean when i started studying Greek Greek is the oldest European language along with latin, now that Latin is not even used, Greek is all that Europeans are left with as a source language... source of all other languages..

Well, thank you, but now the New Greek language is more simple and it has many foreign (and turkish) words.

There are about 45.000 greek words in English! Words like butter, church, priest, clerk, calm, problem, star, hisotry, story and many other words are greek!

haha thats about howmany words there are in English anyway.. hehe im joking i wouldnt be surprised if they had even more greek words because Greek gave birth to all those languages when the rest of the world still used to sniff eachother to communicate apperantly Greeks were writing literature... when we finally started speaking, you guys were having meetings in Athens to bring democracy to Europe... Then you mixed with us, (other people from other countries) and that was bad you, if Socrates saw Greeks today he would say, 'what have you done my children? why did you mix with those other bloods? you were the founders of democracy, the literature and everything that made europe, europe but now you are lacking potential..' he would be alittle bit upset but still though although Greeks lack potential in some ways, they are not a nation thats proud of their power that came from destroying other nations (no offence to any one ofcourse) Greeks are simply proud of the great culture they have.. thats why i love Greece and am making an effort to learn the language

Yeah, that's right. We're very proud. If you see my signature it says ''I say it out, I say it loud, I'm Greek and I'm proud''. Hehehe!

I know that now we suck, but we are good people and we don't harm anyone. That's better of being powerful and destroy other nations.
