Kalimera, ti kanis !
Well i hope that i learne good my 1st lesson in Greek language, but please ligo ligo with me, need mor time to understand som word agin. whatever, belive me, lestning to a beautiful song help to much to learn.
Well thank you again and agin as i say it will be not enough for my dear Maria gr. Really i was pleasant surprised when I have read the tradiction which you made very very good.
Finally it is a philosophical and humain song !!!! Belive me my dear that what i feel each time i listen to it, i feel that Alexiou, throught her melodieuse voice according with the beauty music, talk with the soul, with the spirit, so whay this song move all in the bottom of my thinking. Thank you very much Dear Maria gr
by the way, yes it is thrue, as i tould you, the song of Asnavour is very beautiful if singing in french, but not in englishe, as charles Aznavour havent a good english, so whay i traied to translat it in englishe (of cours my english is not so good as your my dear, but belive me i made as much as I could to get the song understood, therefore if it is a bad tradiction, I wish that you will agree all my excuse).
Charles Aznavour
Title of the song : Emmenez-moi
music of Georges Garvarentz
Vers les docks où le poids et l'ennui
Towards the docks (the dockers are the men who work on the quay of the port) where the weight and the boredom
Me courbent le dos
Make me bend the back
Ils arrivent le ventre alourdi
They arrive, their estomach wighed down (estomach of bote that mean ther hull)
De fruits les bateaux
By the fruits, the botes
Ils viennent du bout du monde
They come from the end of the world
Apportant avec eux
Bringing with them
Des idées vagabondes
roaming ideas
Aux reflets de ciels bleus
To the reflections of blue skies
De mirages
Of mirages
Traînant un parfum poivré
Trailing a peppered perfume
De pays inconnus
By unknown countries
Et d'éternels étés
wher ther are a eternal summers
Où l'on vit presque nus
Where the peopel live almost naked On beaches
Sur les plages
On the beaches
Moi qui n'ai connu toute ma vie
me who knew all my life
Que le ciel du nord
Only the sky of the North
J'aimerais débarbouiller ce gris
I would like to wash this grey (it mean the gery of the skine, so wash this grey it mean make bronsage)
En virant de bord
by turning of edge (edge of the bote)
Emmenez-moi au bout de la terre
Take me at the end of the earth(ground)
Emmenez-moi au pays des merveilles
Take Me to the wonderland
Il me semble que la misère
It seems to me that the misery
Serait moins pénible au soleil
Would be less painful with the sun
Dans les bars à la tombée du jour
In the bars at nightfall
Avec les marins
With the sailors
Quand on parle de filles et d'amour
When we talke about girls and the love
Un verre à la main
and A glass (it mean a drink) in the hand
Je perds la notion des choses
I lose the notion of the things
Et soudain ma pensée
And sudden my thought
M'enlève et me dépose
Remove me and deposits me
Un merveilleux été
A marvellous summer
Sur la grève
On the strike
Où je vois tendant les bras
Where I see tightening the arms
L'amour qui comme un fou
The love which like insane
Court au devant de moi
Runs in front of me
Et je me pends au cou
I take myself by the neck
De mon rêve
Of my dream
Quand les bars ferment, que les marins
When bars close, when the sailors
Rejoignent leur bord
Join their edge (edge of the bote)
Moi je rêve encore jusqu'au matin
Me I still dream until the morning
Debout sur le port
Upright on the port
Emmenez-moi au bout de la terre
Take me at the end of the earth(ground)
Emmenez-moi au pays des merveilles
Take Me to the wonderland
Il me semble que la misère
It seems to me that the misery
Serait moins pénible au soleil
Would be less painful with the sun
Un beau jour sur un rafiot craquant
A beautiful day on a cracking rafiot (kind of bote)
De la coque au pont
Hull with the bridge
Pour partir je travaillerais dans
To leave i am ready to work even
La soute à charbon
in the coal bunker
Prenant la route qui mène
Taking the road which carries me
A mes rêves d'enfant
To my childhood's dreams
Sur des îles lointaines
On distant islands
Où rien n'est important
Where nothing is important
Que de vivre
Only to live
Où les filles alanguies
Where the faint girls ( it is a positif meaning, it mean girls who she hav a slim waist)
Vous ravissent le cœur
You charm the heart
En tressant m'a t'on dit
As somone tould me, while she braiding,
De ces colliers de fleurs
with these garlands of flowers
Qui enivrent
who she make any one as a drunk
Je fuirais laissant là mon passé
I would run away leaving my past
Sans aucun remords
Without any remorse
Sans bagage et le cœur libéré
Without luggage and the heart is freed (released)
En chantant très fort
whil singing very hardly
Emmenez-moi au bout de la terre
Take me at the end of the earth(ground)
Emmenez-moi au pays des merveilles
Take Me to the wonderland
Il me semble que la misère
It seems to me that the misery
Serait moins pénible au soleil
Would be less painful with the sun
I hope that i transalt it good
Thank you again dear Maria gr,
