I agree... it's difficult to convey the meaning of "I care about you" without risks I think in this case I 'd opt for "Me importas (mucho)" .

yea, i was thinkin the other day how would you say i want you? i mean, literally te quiero, but that's soooo different from what it means in english. i want you just shows sexual desires.

I want you= Te deseo (lit. "I desire you"... it also expresses only sexual desire )
