So I'm working on learning Bosnian, but my school stopped offering it as a course once i got here :[ So i'm trying to learn it completely on my own. I have a lot of Bosnian friends, so they teach me little things here and there, but I find this super difficult. I am fluent in German and learned that when i was young, so not knowing the grammar rules and genders and cases is really confusing me, since i just feel like i'm memorizing phrases and their meaning but i don't actually know what each word means. In German nouns have endings like mein, meine, meiner, etc. How is that decided in Bosnian??

If something "nije naracito naglaseno" does that mean it's not clearly evident or it's not strong?
What is the exact meaning and how would you use this phrase in a sentence?

From what I can see it uses similar grammar to Croatian.

The literal translation would be:

"It is not particularly pointed out" meaning about something when it is not especially, for sure, said what it is or what things are needed for etc....

Like for example- It is not particularly pointed out (written or said) what qualifications are necessary for this job

you can use this one too..It's about serbian grammar, but it's really the same..actually, new bosnian language,as far as I know, is some kind of mixture of serbian and croatian..but for learning grammar, I think you can use whatever you find (serbian, bosnian, croatian)

to say "I miss my love" would I say - nedostaje mi ljubave or would I use the word "promašiti"

well...I miss my love is Nedostaje mi moja ljubav..you can't use verb promašiti here. because it has totaly different meaning..
I will try to explain
nedostajati - miss (when you miss someone, something, like in that sentence you sad - Nedostaje mi moja ljubav, Nedostajes mi "I miss you' etc...)
promašiti - miss (like..."You missed the target" - Promasio si metu)

well, I don't know how clear I was...

zakasniti - is this miss as in something also?
propustiti is this the same as promašiti?

zakasniti is - get late..for example 'Zakasnio je" : He got late

and propustiti is..well, it's very similar to promasiti, but I don't know if you can use it every time instead of promasiti...for example...you can't say You missed target - Propustio je metu..in that case, you have to use verb promašiti..

it's more like...You missed the meeting - "Propustio si sastanak"

I know I'm not very good teacher, but it's really strange for me to explain serbian
ok, maybe you could write some sentences on english, I think it's simple to learn on examples

ok .. how about these:
I missed the bus.
I miss you my love.
he missed the train by 5 minutes.
I missed the meeting because I was late waking up.
I missed the dog by swerving to the right.

I think I have covered all the different uses of "miss" in english

looks like propustio is used for the bus .. but zakasnio is used for the train. Also which version of missed is used for missing the dog?
I am trying to understand the different words used.
I understand that nedostajes is for people, and propustio is for things .. I am not clear on the other versions.

Could someone tell me if Nosim tvoje srce u svom srcu is the right translation for I carry your heart. I carry it in my heart. ? Coz I suspect that means only I carry your heart in my heart.

oh gosh...
well.. there is no difference in missing a bus and missing a train
I just translated them differently.. in a way I would say the sentences
You can say
Propustio sam autobus/voz or Zakasnio sam na autobus/voz
literal translation of I missed the bus/train is the one with Propustio sam...
You can also say - Pobegao mi autobus (which is what I would say actually.. in situation when it goes off right there in front of your nose.. Literally, it means - The bus ran away from me

Zakasnio sam means - I was late

It can not be generalized like - one word is for things, the other is for people

You can also say I miss my dog - Nedostaje mi moj pas

You missed the dog but you are not missing it (ne nedostaje ti) - you missed it on purpose i.e. you avoided it (izbegao si ga)

So.. yeah it's correct just not literal
