You're welcome to pick up the thread, Doug, but when I write in italics, I'm not aiming to participate in the game Just posting stuff that goes through my mind in haiku/senryu-form.

I do hope your 'long years' haven't been that 'tattered'...!

    I'm rusty. Granted.

And I do not wish to run off our faithful posters. Please--continue to post. Just a reminder: The art of haiku is "painting pictures with minimal words," not "rhyming with few words." Your brief rhymes are "ditties," which, of course make me smile. But they are not haiku. ("While the cat's away, the mice will play" = a ditty for you!!!)

    Anyone still interested in haiku?

If not, maybe one of you clever poets can start a thread to showcase your talents, making people smile with your short rhymes!

Frankie, hi Here I painted a picture of insomnia. The rhyme IMHO is not disturbing in this case. Words used are minimal as well, lol

I'm on a haiku hiatus, though you never know when something pops out. I could use a couple of Noors spurring me on, lol

Ola, Ola, it's always bad to become too dependent on other peoples' inspiration

Not a single book or piece of art I love was made without it, amaryn.

Admittedly, nearly all of those authors and artists were chaotic and so were their lives, but... A good soul is like a mango-passion fruit-orange smoothie with ice made of fresh produce in a tropical country, and you have two options - to drink slowly, or keep ordering more (I'll happily admit to being extremely partial to fresh smoothies of said description freshly made to order in Thailand )
