    Yes, Enoo, that's fine! We're so glad to have you here! We have begun to post some haiku that are not a part of the "Haiku Game."

    It's good you showed the haiku that inspired you. [BTW, if ever you are aware your haiku is in a different order from the "Haiku Game," please post it anyway--if you put it in italics, everyone will know you are adding an independent haiku.] And don't worry too much about it. As you can see previously, I posted a haiku completely out-of-order, possibly because of failing to read the next page!

    Hi, amaryn!

    Frolicking playfully
    Brown over red over gold
    Leaves on the sidewalk

    leaves on the sidewalk
    frozen puddles
    the curlew calls

    gracefully stepping ahead
    on a riverbank

    ...speaking of curlews, their onomatopoeic Finnish name (kuovi) is almost beautiful; we used to imitate them as kids. I don't think we ever saw them before mid-April though...

    @Frankie Jasmine: thank you for your nice and welcoming words, they warm my heart Yes, next time I'll do as you suggest

    on a riverbank
    I thought I glimpsed my past
    but it ran away
    Even after all this time
    The Sun never says to the Earth
    « You owe me »
    Look what happens with a love like that
    It lights the whole sky

    Hide from a cloud
    Avoid always its shadow; soon
    You will thirst.

    you will thirst,
    great suffering will waylay you;
    this, too, shall pass

    This too shall pass,
    A moments happiness -
    anguished tears, gone

    gone, too, the exalted bliss
    silence remains

    Where little voices once rang;

    I like them when there's something to like. If I don't, don't you mind; you're in brilliant company. Out of the 100 greatest English language poems of the 20th century, I would probably like something like 5-10.
