pierr, we as latin ones have a technical font and a handwriting font In internet we write with the technical font (because we cant handwrite here ) but many bulgarians use the technical font for handwriting too, because it`s way much simpler and much easier. I personally handwrite with the technical font too

now in the technical and in the handwriting font in the most of the letters they are pritty the same, but there are some that in the little letters (not sure that the english call the like that way ) there are some differences.

Here you can see the cyrilic aplhabet when it`s Italic in Word. It`s the closest picture I had found of our habdwriting found

Yes, but the "No Smoking" sign is translated as "Пушенето забранено" in Bulgarian :P

+ Propel, don't give up just because you didn't get some sentences right ;] That's a part of learning things - trial and error :] And I can only imagine how difficult it is for you when you probably don't have anyone around to practice with ... Btw, how long you've been self-teaching Bulgarian for? You're doing well so far :]

Ive been learning bulgarian without ATL for like 1 month?

But, Overall, it's been like.....geeze.. maybe 3-4 months?

But im getting serious about it now.

Am I doing well????? For a begininer? haha

I think that another thing that is giving me trouble is that I just need to learn more words. And study nouns, participles (i dont know what that is....hahahahah), and SENTENCE STRUCTURE! for some reason, to me, each sentence's strucure seems different

Gezee, Bulgarian is very hard. What did I get myself into?

    Default Bulgarian Grammer

I was wondering in this thread, the native speakers (or others fluent) in Bulgarian, could write out the grammer rules for Bulgarian?

I Think this thread will help me strictly with grammer.

U need communication with Bulgarian speakers.Come here and u'll learn much more for a summer vacation then u've learned for 3 years being distant from Bulgaria

    Добре. Започвам
    Nouns
    There r 3 genders:
male gender - words ending on consonantal sounds: мъж,човек,брат,свят,град и т.н.
    Definitive article: ending on ът
    мъжът,човекът,братът,светът,градът
or on ят when the word is ending on л or р
    учител-учителят ; овчар-овчарят.
"Ят" is used basicly for a person. Most male-gender-words end on "ът".

female gender - words ending on a/я
    жена,майка,сестра,чиния,филия,буря
    Definitive article: ta
    жената,майката,чинията,филията,бурята
    There r some extra-rule exapmles:
песен(a song),есен(Autumn),нощ(night),любов(love),пролет(S pring),мощ(might) though ending on consonantal sounds r in the female gender and their definitive is: песента,есента,любовта,нощта,пролетта,мощта.

    middle gender-words ending on o/е
    дете,лято,слънце,момче,момиче,дърво
    Definitive article: то
    детето,лятото,слънцето,момчето,момичето,дърво то
    That's why u can't use for Malina"nai-dobre/nai-dobro".Malina is a woman--> she's a female.That's why--> Малина е най-добраТА.
    Is it clear?
    Eins.. hier kommt die Sonne
    Zwei..hier kommt die Sonne
    Drei.. hier kommt die Sonne

    Fünf
    Sechs
    Sieben..

"evala" is a word that lasted from the time we were under turkish supresion
"EV ALLAH" is where the word came from and it means "glory to Allah" but in time we started using it with meaning "Браво на теб" or "крайно време беше" ( it was about time.... ) :P

btw i saw what you're doing to PROPEL... he's doing pretty good for a beginer don't tease him so much
    GREAT JOB PROPEL !!!
