Break a leg is an english expression. Came to life cause wishing luck was considered bad luck in theatre. (the serbian is a literate translation of that expression)

I have never said to anyone there 'slomi nogu', people would think I'm crazy .

well i know we never said good luck before exams.. that would be bad luck!
so.. break a leg is against bad luck just like impulssi explained
