"I went to work with my uncle* in the rain and a 'makita'(??), and a shovel fell off and it hit me on my back, so I was taken to hospital and I'm recovering now."

    *In Spain "tío"=bloke

Are you sure you just have to translate this sentence? it sounds like the instructions of your paper to me... it says:

"It's your first day of class and some friends are talking about what they did during the summer break. Use the past tense of the verbs in brackets to complete the conversation."

"How were your holidays? Miriam, Where did you go? Well, I went to visit some relatives that live next to the sea. We spent a lot of time on the beach. I did some windsurfing nearly everyday."

It just occurred to me that you may need the spanish to be perfect, as it's homework...

    It should be:

anyone able to help me translate this letter thanks in advance to anyone who is able to help!!

    querida abuela,

    dear grandmother

Thank you very much for the money you gave me for my birthday! I want to tell you what I did on holidays. The first day of my trip, I made friends with a girl on the beach and learning to ride windsurfing. You will not believe, but I'll take some windsurfing lessons with the money you sent me. When are you going to visit us, Grandpa and you? with love to all. Please say hi to grandpa for me. Also I send you a hug from mom.

    I miss you very much,
the first love is gone ... am waiting for the last one!!
