are these lyrics in Russian or another language? when I searched for information on the artist, a lot of Croatian links came up, but I recognize a lot of the words and therefore seems Russian

It's Serbian. But both Serbian and Russian are slavic languages, so it's not surprising that you'll find cognates between them.
