    Me miliona njerz
    there's a million people
    sonte me shikojne
    watching me tonight
    syve siu besojn
    you wouldn't believe your eyes

    sonte jam qmendur
    tonight I've gone crazy
    nga duart tua
    from your hands
    nga puthjet tua
    from your kisses
    le t'kallet ketuhja*
let this place burn up (lit.)

    Ref:2 x
    Hajde shoto mashalla*
    come on shoto (you're) wonderful
    fluturo me krah*
(stretch your) arms out and fly
    luj shoto luj
    dance shoto dance
    diten ta paguaj
    i'll pay for the day

    Si po e dridh belin
    how your shaking your waste
    shohin keta sy
    my eyes are watching
    si po digjet trupi
how the body is burning up
    o vetem per Ty..
    only for you

    sonte do te dehesh
    tonight you'll get drunk
    jo nga merzia
    not from misery
    as nga rakia
    not from the brandy
    po buzet e mia ...
    but from my lips

    * le t'kallet - is a very popular and very used phrase meaning like "lets get this party started" or "lets raise the roof" lol

*mashallah is an arabic term meaning "may God preserve him from evil" but it is loosely and commonly used as an expression to mean "wonderful", "great" etc.

*i don't know who or what Shota is... which is kind of strange, I have just never wondered. I'm guessing it's a female name.

Maybe someone else could help who knows more info about it possibly...

Shota is a very old folk song from Kosova. The original wedding dance is "Vallja E Rugoves" with only the music. "Shota" with lyrics is always played at parties too, it's more upbeat and the melody is in fact different.

I won't attemp to translate this song but it won't make much sense. So pretty much it's supposed to be humorous, Adelina likes to rap in many of her songs, and she uses a lot of slang and is basically just telling a a made up story of the drama surrounding a bride and the family she will marry into. It's supposed to be funny and entertaining.
-She has many songs like this such as "Kenagegje (Mushni Cajat)": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyuKy0wQu2s
and more recent: "U Kall Be Daj" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAeM4hvaewM

Adelina Ismaili or Ismajli is probably one of the most influential Albanian pop singers from Kosova. She is very popular and is not afraid of controversy or saying what she wants to say. Shes very "prima donna" i guess one could say, a diva but then she has this very concrete and humble side to her roots in Kosova(speaking about many of her patriotic songs) these are just a few reasons for her success.

Adelina Ismajli - Dasma (The Wedding)

Na ka dal nusja e mire
the bride has come out beautifully
    Ohhhhh of aman
    oh my

    (talking about the bride)
E po vijn krushqit rena e rena
the wedding party is coming in rows/lines
    Lum konaku qė t`shtin mrena
(happy is) the ? that puts you inside
Lum oborri qė shkel me kom
(happy is) or (good for) the yard which your foot will step on
E lumja vjerra qė i thu non
(happy is) or (good for) the mother in law who you will call mom

Nale vain djal se dada vjen apet
Po del qika e pe knon kthizen si kapak
Si vjen marre e pe shplon e se di s`pe shplon
Hajt be djal del qanej hiq ti mos ta nin
Mu m`ka hije krejt qka boj se jam adelin
Sallatat jan t`shnoshme e nė shkoll na kan msu
Xhevria msimin goxha e kihs kuptu
    Me shqetsi sallatat mi ndrru

Oj ti m`ka thon reshadia qė
Xhevria e kish gjet ni frajer tha bek ish
Po lujke me gogla e po lujke tenis
    Puu i thash zoti t`marroft
Qysh moj s`po t`vje marre me fol pis
Eee ani kishe po thojn u prish dynjaja
Qikat shum jan cullaku rren koft rren koft
Hajt thash pash bacen mos qit kopalla
Se kty ni her nėpėr oda kong t`pisllafta kush na ka knu

E me ta qit komėn me kast
Sa t`jet nata t`ruj me gaz
E me t`shti dada ty pėrfundi
Ta nin brimėn krejt katundi djal

    Uuh shihi moj kto shtihejka
    M`kann ardh ktu e po`m perdridhen
Veni ven kurr nuk i nzuni

oh and if anyone knows like the story that fits this song that be pretty sweet.
I tried to find lyrics to this song but i was unable to.I would attempt to write them but I doubt they will be correct since i don't know the Gheg dialect very well and also sorry for the late reply. This is an old folk song, Mitrovice is a city in Kosova. I can't say much about the lyrics, Mitrovice Na Rrehi Teli (Mitrovice we play the strings) or N'Mitrovice Na Rrehi Teli, I believe he is referring to playing the Cifteli (the Albanian instruments they are playing in the video). It goes on to mention different parts of the city i believe, like the spring, the land etc. that's all i understood at least lol.

I just found part of the lyrics, here it is, hopefully someone will be able to translate the few empty lines:

    N`Mitrovic kur rrehi teli
In Mitrovica where the strings are played
me bori po bie asjeri ,
me bori po bien te tane
    konxhalozi gjalle ish kane

Tuj shtetitur te guri i pusit
strolling to the rock by the well
    Un keputa nji drandojfie
    i picked a rose
    dradofiles po i vjen era
the smell of the rose is coming
Lule te bukra ka qel pranvera
    spring has opened beautiful flowers

@Balkaneuro: thank you very much for your reply about Shota. Very enlightening. And BEAUTIFUL lyrics, I must say. Too bad I can't find a good mp3 of Adelina's version. Imho it is one of the very best! I love it!

Two more questions, but never mind if you don't know the answer.

    1) the title is 'Shota', but the text says 'Shoto'. Why? Is it perhaps a male form of the word? Do other (male) singers say 'Shota'?

    2) is it possible that the instrumental version of Shota, or rather 'Vallja e Rugoves' (Rugova being a city, right? Or is it the name of an Albanian hero?) is a warrior's dance? I found several video's with men brandishing swords or rifles. Not my idea of a wedding ceremonial. How did it become music for weddings?

Zajmina & Rati - Rose envelopes

    Trendafilat neper letra
    Roses between the letters

without an adress but i know
    hapa derėn nuk tė gjeta
i opened the door and didnt find you
veē nje letėr marr nga ty,
    only a letter from you
    sa herė qė dėgjoj trokitje
every time i hear a knock
zemra ndal kur nuk je ti,
my heart stops when its not you
    smundem tė kėrkoj unė falje
    i cant ask for forgivness
    kam shumė frikė.
    im too scared

skam faj se ti mė le, tani e vetme je
its not my fault because you left me, now youre alone
    sduron kjo zemra ime
    my heart cant take anymore
    dhe ti fal ato gabime.
    and it forgives your mistakes/faults
ti mė le, tani e vetmje je
you left me, now youre alone

    im not asking for forgivness
    mė mjafton njė trėndafil,
    a rose would be enough
    do tė doja tė thėrrisja
    i would love to scream
    emrin tėnd me plot fuqi,
your name with all my force
    kam gabuar,
    i was wrong
as nė ėndėrr smė vjen ti.
you dont even come in my dreams

ndoshta ti mė nuk do kthehesh
    maybe you wont come back

Hi everyone! Can anybody please translate in english this song: Per nje dashuri - Ermal Fejzullahu?
    Thank you.

    Lyrics:
    ....
Pse me ben te vuaj un
dhe te shkrihem per nje dashuri
dhe te lutem, dhe te lutem
    per ty.

Pse me ben me lot ne sy
    ndonse lotet nuk i meritoj
kto nete te gjata si ti kaloj.

Ti qe sot je me tjeter kend
dhe shum embel ti, i buzeqesh
gjersa un pas teje dua dhe s'dua te vdes
    per nje dashuri.
Ti qe sot je me tjeter kend
dhe shum embel ti, po i buzeqesh
gjersa un pas teje dua te vdes
    un dua te vdes.

    Pse te besova aq shum
dhe ta fala zemren time te shkret
qe digjet, qe digjet tash vet.

Pse me ben me lot ne sy
    ndonse lotet nuk i meritoj
kto netet e gjata si ti kaloj.

Ti qe sot je me tjeter kend
dhe shum embel ti, i buzeqesh
gjersa un pas teje dua dhe s'dua te vdes
    per nje dashuri.
Ti qe sot je me tjeter kend

    un dua te vdes.

Ti qe sot je me tjeter kend

there really isnt a big differenc between Shoto and Shota, by saying Shoto, its like adding more emphasis on it, its meant to be like Hajde Shoto Luj, like come on and play and dance and have fun.

&& i read somewhere above on this thread someone asking what a Shota is, a shote is like a a beautiful Swan or bird, hence why in the song it says Hajde Shoto Mashallah Fluturo Me Krah, meaning come on and fly with your wings.

    Hope it helped =]

Ermal Fejzullahu - For one love

Pse me ben te vuaj un
Why do you make me suffer
dhe te shkrihem per nje dashuri

    asgje nuk eshte personale
    mos u shqeteso ti
    nuk eshte fatale

    ti je e bukur
    por kam nje lidhje intime
pak para ty e ka zene zemren time

    ref:
besa bese kemi dhene te dy
    me fal
    gjej nje tjeter ti
e knacu si ne te dy
besa bese kemi dhene per jete
    me fal
    shume e bukur je
    por te lutem me fal

    ne krahet e mia kam

    naj, naj, naj, naj, naj
    na, na, na, na, na
kur dua dhe diellin ne dor e mbaj
when i want i (can even) hold the sun in my hand "in the palm of my hand"

This is a nice song : ) enjoy.

Artiola Toska is one of my latest discoveries, and I'm very pleased with it. Could someone provide me with the lyrics (a translation woulde also be appreciated) of her song Duje vjehrren krejt si nanen? I searched for them at teksteshqip, but couldn't find them. I do have a YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkTmken7IdY

There's a bunch of proverbs and double meanings in this song, yikes!

Artiola Toska - Duje Vjehrren Krejt Si Nanen (Love your mother in law like you love your mother)

Me at sebep na thot vjerra
for that reason tells my mother in law
    E kam nusen si pranvera
my (sons) bride is like spring
    Nusen e kam yll-ja
    my bride is a star
Nuk ka goj e llafe ska*
she doesn't have a mouth, no words (meaning: doesn't talk back, or gossip)
    Pa kalu hala mir vapa
still without passing the hot weather
    Dardha paska bishin mrapa*
the pear has it's tail in the back* (meaning: "what goes around comes around, you'll get what you deserve)
    Se I paska jeta kto
'cause these things are apart of life
Mos e raft se ske ci bo
don't hurt her 'cause there's nothing you can do about it

    Mir me vjerren
nice with a mother in law
    Mir me burrin
    nice with a husband
    Llafi mir zbut dhe gurin*
a good word melts also the rock (meaning: a good word goes a long way)
    Meri punet urt e but*
take your work shy and soft (meaning: be patient)
    Trriqe penin mos e kput*
don't rip the string off (meaning: ?)

    Ska si vjerra ne shtepi
there is no other like a mother in law in her house
Te ben drek e t’rrit femi
she makes lunch and raises your kids
Dhe kur nxhet per hic gjo
and she matches up to anything
    Boj dhe ti sikur s’nigjo
act like you don't no a thing

    Amanet na e kan lon
    she left her trust (will)
    Vjerren maje krejt si non
keep your mother in law like your own mother
    Merre punen qet e qet*
take the job silently (meaning: be calm about things)
    Shkon me vjerren 100 vjet
you last with your mother in law 100 years

    Enjoy!
