Default Sample of Song: female vocalist.... plus a 45 year old mystery song

Hate to repost, but I'm concerned that posting just to a "store" forum might miss the bigger audience. My girlfriend dragged me to so many stores I can't remember which one this song was playing at. I think it was the GAP but not sure. The clerk said it was a MUZAK disk. I made a brief recording on my digital camera but never was able to make out any of the lyrics to do a lyric search....

I uploaded that 30 sec clip here http://chronos-historical.org/downlo...sterysong2.mp3
Sorry, it's volume is low and there are store noises in the background.

And if anyone wants to try their hand at a 40+ year song I've never been able to identify.... it was recorded using a mic from an old underground radio station so the quality isn't that great...

    Thanks!!!

I think some of the lyrics were "I should have known". A lyric search turned up a number of songs but I checked them out at grooveshark and Amazon and none were close. The sample here has some back and forth between the lead vocalist and the choras. That singer sounds a bit like Melissa Etheridge and she does have a song called No Guarantees with those lyrics but I can't find a sample anywhere. I can't even find what CD it's from.

A wild guess for the mystery song...

Charles Cofer - He Got His Eyes On You

    Label: New Day

Note: I can't find lyrics or a song clip for Charles Cofer. I would recommend contacting Silverfox Records in the UK

BINGO!!! Thanks Mumbles!!! What a great idea this forum is.

As for the other 45 year old song, I posted it once before in the 60's music group at Google Groups with no luck. Maybe I'll try again.

Thanks for responding Dan. Mumbles got it... Walk Through Walls by Kyla La Grange. But I should check out your suggestion. Who know... I may like it too!

My guess is for the 45 year mystery song, not the one Mumbles answered.

Sorry for the delay in responding CB... I just finally got to my mailbox and found a notice you'd responded.

I can't find any audio samples to confirm, but your lead is the best I've gotten yet.

    THANKS!!!!!

Hate to drag up an old thread from 3 years ago... but do you (if you're still here) or does anyone have any more info on this Charles Cofer? Is that the correct spelling of his name? What was the name of his album? (His name did show up on the Silverfox 3 years ago... but it's not there now)

    Thanks!

Thanks Atamaster... and thanks to BlueNileFan for this suggestion. That's not the song... and at this point have to wonder whether it's even Charles Cofer. He seems to be religious soul, and I'm looking for someone who played on an old hippie station back in 69ish. I don't know if Claybricks suggested him because he knew the song, or just the possible song title. The search continues. Thanks!!!
