Well I tried to translate this other old folk song as well, but I know it with little bit different verses I will send you the translation just don't know how it will sound Ok, here it is......

    Eleno, daughter Eleno
    You one to mother
Why are you standing daughter, what are you thinking
What kind of book are you writing

    To whom daughter, to whom
    You will send your book
    I'm sending mother, sending
    To the city of Edrene

    Edrene my mother, Edrene
    To my brother Ilija*
To buy my mother, to buy
    A hat for me

    A hat mother, a hat
    From three thousands groschens
To wear it mother, to wear it
    For the day of "Ilinden"**

*Ilija it is Macedonian name as Elena is...just in the song I know she sends letter to her beloved one to buy something for her...

**Ilinden(The Uprising of 1903) it is the date when the Macedonian people rose up in rebellion to liberate our country..so we celebrate it as national festival
The icon lamp has brighten the sky
white aureole are knitting the angels for you
your star extinguished, as soon as I found you, you left
    ***TOŠE FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS***

Thanks Lydia, your transaltion is very helpful!
Yes, your are right, there are many other versions of this song.
    Here's a second one, could I ask for a quick translation? ;-)

    Eleno kerko, Eleno
    Ti edna na majko
    Što stojiš kerko, što misliš
    Što kniga pisuvaš

    Da kupi majko, da kupi
    Za mene večer
    Elence majko, Elence
    Od trista grosa

    Pisuvam majko, pisuvam
    Vo gradot edrene
    Edrene majko, edrene
    Na moje to libe

For a third version you can watch this video

Words are quite different, isn't it?

Ah, melodies, songs and dances travel around and change during the time... :-)

I must agree with you However all of them are in a way similar, just some words are different..
In this second one everything is same just as I told you she is writing to her beloved one ( to buy her some kind of jacket I guess
And I checked also the clip you sent me, it is nice
I think the verses are same with the lyrics of the first one you posted, and it is from some school that teaches people how to dance :P probably in some foreign country :P...
