Thread: Lyrics You're Fond Of

Oh. My. God.
I've passed this thread so many times and cursed my inability to understand turkish even more, wishing I could pick up languages as fast as everyone else in this world, and thus thinking that there was no need to even venture here. I see now how mistaken I was.
You'll be happy to know that I read every single post, and I do hope you'll forgive me for going a tad (okay maybe more than a tad) off topic but Im feeling slightly overwhelmed. As I read your very first post, I remember dismally nodding my head and agreeing with you, I couldnt have written it better had I tried. Until I spotted my name on the listnow I'm honoured you think so, but oh the irony! I leave you with a misquote from a wise man, 'the world is a stage and the people are but actors'
You also mentioned the fact that you've been known to be daft and called upon me to witness. I in turn will do no such thing, au contraire, I love your sense of humour and your wit. Like I mentioned previously, I read every single post and every one of yours had me grinning like a cheshire cat
Huda, Zaza is right, the term used is not a very amiable one, and seeing that you loved spot on here is another one for you 'bulls eye'!
I apologize for talking too much, but the truth had to be said! I'll conclude with the only statement I can say in tr bana sen lazimsin. And it is true. Screw the rest of the world and their *****y tasteless comments, ATLers rock!
Love ve öptum
Viva xx

Maybe I should post the whole song coz I really adore these lyrics but...
Şebnem Ferah - Mayın Tarlası
Savaş filmlerinde olur ya yaralı yaralı devam etmişim // Like in war movies though I was wounded, I went on
Sonuna kadar aşk ya yanımdasın sanmışım // Taking that it was love for ever, I thought you were with me

Vivska, your message made me both happy and sad.
I know this is a)very off-topic and b)probably best said personally but I think that we could all be reminded of it from time to time:
This world is cold sometimes. Most people have good intentions, but there are more than enough people who will beat you up, emotionally. So don't be one of them! Be as kind in the things you say to yourself as you are so kind to other people. Humanity (real humanity) is an endangered species in a sense. We must be careful with them, ourselves included.
The world may be a stage, and we are all actors, but I think "fake it til you make it" is solid advice.
Wow, you actually have me wanting to call you words I never say, words like draga and canım.But I prefer this one in Italian, cara ragazza (sweet/dear girl).
Now add some lyrics that are meaningful to you!
P.S. Love that song, Milena. Great lyrics. Finished listening to 110's discography today (SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD) and now I'm going to listen to Şebnem again.

Stay happy Zaza! This one is specially for you!
It seems everyone wants me to love Tarkan, and I'm afraid I might be falling...someone catch me quick!
Ikimizin yerine
Bana hediye birak bütün kederleri
Leave all the pain as a present for me
Ben aglarim ikimizin yerine
I will cry for both of us

Thanks Love!
I don't want you to love Tarkan at all. But you should listen to the songs from him I mentioned...cos those are just about the only things that SilverMoon and I agree on. (We oddly have the same taste in Tarkan songs.)
Well, he and I also agree that I'm cruel.

Well, I don't like to make a habit of it (being cruel)...but certain things just bring it out. I must have learnt it from the Serbs.*
Love this song so much:
Şebnem Ferah - Kalbim (VIVA- this woman belongs in your ipod! It's a must!)
Siyah beyaz bir film gibiydin herkes uyurken izlediğim // You were like a black and white film that I watched while everyone slept
Her zaman gitmek istediğim tatil yerleri gibiydin // You were like vacation spots I always wanted to visit
Dergi sayfalarında hiç gidemediğim // in magazine pages, that I never got to go to
En çok sevdiğim şarkıydın herkesten çok sevildin // You were the song I loved the most, you were loved more than anyone
*Disclaimer to Serbs: It was a joke. A joke. Please don't kill me.Last edited by partizanka; 11-22-2010 at 09:01 AM. Reason: I can't spell

*** EDIT- Milena, the only thing worse than a 2 person game, is a 1 person game.
Viva, I think you actually already have one, nu?
I quote these lines every chance I get because it is so well-written:
Emre Aydın - Ve Gülümse Şimdi (Bebeğim)// And Smile Now (My Baby)
Çocuktun hep sen, elinde balonla... Engel miydim ben ? İğne miydim ? // You have always been a child, with a balloon in your hand...Was I the problem? Was I the pin?
Oyunun en güzel yerinde zil çalınca üzülürdük ya...// The way we would get sad when the bell would ring at the best part of the game...
Öyleyim... // We're just like that
*Very roughly translated as I forgot the exact wording of the original translation...Yanlışsam, aydınlatLast edited by partizanka; 11-24-2010 at 07:22 AM.

Viva is here for you <3
I do?
Listening to Sebnen Ferah - Kalbim right now
Lyrics I'm very fond of (easy to hear, easy to sing, love it!)
Berdan Mandini - Aman Aman
Aman, aman, aman, haldan düştüm,
Oh dear, I'm out of strength
Yar, yar, yar, yar.
Love, love, love, love
Aman aman aman sana küstüm,
Oh dear, I'm cross with you,
Yar, yar, yar, yar.
Love, love, love, love.
Aman, dünyada ne ne insanlar
Oh dear, see what kind of people
Var, var, var, var.
There are in the world.
Hep bizi mi bulur vefasızlar hayırsızlar?
Why do them unfaithful, worthless people always come across our way?
Translation thanks to dear Plainy! And I think I will spend today calling everyone yarLast edited by VivaPalestina; 11-24-2010 at 07:54 AM.

Well now I do. I didn't before.
Yasemin has really good lyrics. I like that line...I laughed out loud when I just read it now.
And it's way too early in the morning (here) to be laughing out loud. (but why does that line remind you of old Turkish movies?)
I just got the Doymadınız translation.
Tak! (In the Danish way, not the Turkish)...you are an artist.

Coz there's a very famous line in old Turkish movies. (mostly movies of some arabesk stars)
"You belong to me or to soil." (i.e I'll kill you.)
Glad you liked it. Vĉrsgod.
