Default Solved: 70's rock tune - find by notation

I think this is an early 70's song -maybe late sixties . I hear horns for this line but it could be unison guitar and bass- whatever it is , it has punch.

I'm stuck on Blood Sweat and Tears/ Edgar Winter 's White Trash, Chase but believe I've exhausted their possibilities . Please help- this has been in my head for a month now.

My wild guess is "Beginnings" by Chicago
Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title

jumboshrimp, is this a tune in 2? (allabreve for the musicians)

I mean, is it in the moderate steady beat of, say, "Paradise City" by Guns 'N' Roses?

It is a steady 4/4 rock beat. Mid-tempo or a bit faster- Like Blood Sweat and Tears' - Lucretia McEvil or Peter Green era Fleetwood Mac's Oh Well.

If you play the notes from my original post in quarter and eighth notes , I have to believe it will ring a bell with someone.

The Ides of March, Chicago, Lighthouse songs are all great but they're not it. The tune I'm looking for wasn't so much an AM readio hit.

Thanks again for anyone taking a shot here.

Can you play it, hum it, etc and post it?

OK, let's make another approach at this one.

Since it sometimes does matter which notes are below the current octave and which are contained within, you may be able to give us a more precise rendition using this tool:
    http://www.musipedia.org/js_piano.html

When you "play", you will get a notes line that even cares about high and low notes (so g1 is distinguished from g'1).
If you tell us that exact notes line, it might finally ring a (tiny) bell.

    Cool Got It

The song I've been looking for is Them Changes- Buddy Miles.

There are two versions - one he did with Hendrix without horns and a studio version with horns featured on a solo album with this tune as the title track.

Thanks to any who tried to help me out !
