    Default Pilli Bebek

One of the best bands that not enough people listen to, in my opinion. SilverMoon always tells people to be explicit, so: please, can someone help translate these two songs?

Açılsın Gözlerin // Open Your Eyes

Çocukca bir rüya görmeli gözlerin // As a child, you had a dream
    Masalsı bir emanet vermeli sözlerin
Yaşamın korkusu, eriyip gitmenin önüne geçki
    Senin bilinsin kıymetin

Açılsın gözlerin // Open your eyes
Gül, gün güneşle var, görsene... // Smile, the day has light, see

    Yağmurun, çisenin, sıradan günlerin
Farkını bilki senin açılsın can evin

Toprağın rengini sevmeli gözlerin // Your eyes loved the soil's colour
    Denize hep sadakat vermeli yüreğin
    Umarsız gecede gördüğün renklerin
Farklını bilki senin açılsın can evin

Gündüz Yüzlü Kız // Bright- Faced Girl (I don't think this expression has an exact equivalent in English )

Göz kırptı bir yıldız,yoksa ben mi öyle sandım // A star winked an eye, or was I just imagining it did?

Geceyi uyutan gündüz yüzlü kız,yıldızlar dürttü seni andım // Put the night to sleep bright-faced girl (?), stars_____, I thought of you

Bir evin vardı yokuş başında, orda derip çatardın günlerini //There was a house near a hill, ?
    Şiddet içeren filmleri seyredemez yaşında
    Bir gün kırılmış buldun ellerini

    Geceleri heceledin,gündüzleri bocaladın // *
Bir kendini dinledin, bir de eli dinledin // You listened only to yourself, and you listened only to a stranger (?)
Hiçbir şey anlamadın,hiçbir şey anlamadın // You didn't understand anything

Geceyi uyutan gündüz yüzlü kız,seni içime gömdüm

*I think this must be an idiom, cos the literal meaning makes no sense to me here.
(sorry, feeling too confused to try much more at the moment)

Açılsın Gözlerin // Open Your Eyes // Let/shall your eyes open

Çocukca bir rüya görmeli gözlerin // As a child, you had a dream // Your eyes shall see a childish dream
Masalsı bir emanet vermeli sözlerin // Your words shall give an epic custody
Yaşamın korkusu, eriyip gitmenin önüne geçki // Fear of life, get ahaed of being melted and gone
Senin bilinsin kıymetin // So that you shall be appreciated
Açılsın gözlerin // Let/shall your eyes open
Gül, gün güneşle var, görsene... // Smile, the day has light, see // Smile, the day is there when you have sun, see it

    Yağmurun, çisenin, sıradan günlerin
Farkını bilki senin açılsın can evin // beware of the difference of rain, raindrops, ordinary days so that your heart shall see.

Toprağın rengini sevmeli gözlerin // Your eyes shall love the soil's colour
Denize hep sadakat vermeli yüreğin // your heart shall give loyalty to sea
    Umarsız gecede gördüğün renklerin
Farklını bilki senin açılsın can evin // beware of the difference of colours you see in the helpless night, so that your heart shall see

partizanka i regret what i started. That lyrics are so strange and i was so awfull but i ll keep it anyway. any corrections will be so good and may be a new translation will be much better :P

i wont even dare to start the 2nd one. i cant even understand it as a native speaker

Sorry, no, I can not accept these humble sentences from you. I appreciate your translation so much.
Now I see why people don't listen to Pilli Bebek: the reason is their crazy, non-sense lyrics!

To be honest, I am very relieved to see that. I was trying to understand both of these songs for a long time. And I was getting so confused that I gave up, finally. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thought these were difficult.

One thing I didn't know was this -li ending, like "görmeli, vermeli"
So it means "shall"...I learned at least something very useful.

    Thank you.

I'll give it a shot, and promise no guarantee of anything!

    Gündüz Yüzlü Kız
    Bright- Faced Girl

Göz kırptı bir yıldız, yoksa ben mi öyle sandım
A star winked an eye, or was I just imagining it?

Geceyi uyutan gündüz yüzlü kız, yıldızlar dürttü seni andım
Bright-faced girl that puts night to sleep, stars poked me, I thought of you

Bir evin vardı yokuş başında, orda derip çatardın günlerini (derip catardin -> derme catma = to do something hastily)
You had a house near a hill, there you lived your life hastily
    Şiddet içeren filmleri seyredemez yaşında
While at the age when you couldn't watch violent films
    Bir gün kırılmış buldun ellerini
One day you found your hands broken

Geceleri heceledin, gündüzleri bocaladın (hecelemek = to spell something, but here it fits more to say anticipate)
At night you anticipated, on daytime you hesitated

Bir kendini dinledin, bir de eli dinledin
You (once) listened to yourself, and you (once) listened to a stranger
Hiçbir şey anlamadın, hiçbir şey anlamadın
    You didn't understand anything

Geceyi uyutan gündüz yüzlü kız, seni içime gömdüm
Bright-faced girl that puts night to sleep, I burried you inside me

    @Parti

Sade...You're a brave girl to try. And your translation actually makes sense! Brava!
    Thank you!
And you listened to them? I'm so happy to see that. I looooooooove his voice. Probably my favourite vocalist of all. Please, if you can, listen to this one when you have time...His voice is INCREDIBLE and these lyrics... <3

    Rica ederim canim!
Dinliyorum simdi. You know how slower songs have to grow on me, but with this voice it doesn't matter if it's slow, sounds so good. Harika. Thanks for sharing parti. =) I will have to hear more songs of Pilli Bebek.

Is it really that complicated? (Please say yes, to make ercmnt and me feel better and to make Sade proud of herself. )

Sade- i really agree with what you said...I can listen to anything from Pilli Bebek just to hear Cem's voice. Even some songs I don't really like from them, but his voice is something that does not belong to this world. <3 (ha, I'm becoming quite fond of using this 'heart' thing. )

    yalanciiiiii yalanciii sahidimdir ay benimmmmmm

    ayyyy benimmm yalancii

But really I understand about some lyrics making absolutely no sense sometimes I think the translation makes more sense than the original song

    afiyet olsun!
Afiyet sounds a bit like the arabic 3afye (health?) and when someone does something instead of saying thank you you say ya3tik il3afye -> may God give you strengh would be a loose translation, hence why I used it here
