    Post Münchener Freiheit - Mondlicht

Münchener Freheit has made some beautiful music, even if over half their songs are saccharine-sweet.

Despite its simple lyrics, this song gave me a bit of trouble with the translation. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. The tricky bits are marked with an asterisk (*).

    ---

    Nacht im Raum
    In the room at night,
    Seh' Dich kaum
    I can barely see you,
    Mondlicht auf der Haut
    moonlight on your skin.
    Bilder so vertraut
    Images so intimate,
    Das bist Du
    that's you.

    Weit und breit
    Far and wide
    Steht die Zeit
stands time. ["Time stands far and wide."]
    Kann Dich atmen hör'n
    I can hear you breathing.
    Deine Nähe spür'n
    [I can] sense your presence.
    Das bist Du
    That's you.

Niemand weiß, was wir beide erleben
No one knows what we both experience.
Niemals waren sich Wünsche so nah
Never were [our] wishes so close.
Niemand weiß, was wir beide uns geben
No one knows what we ***. [I can't quite parse this line. "No one knows what we both give [to] ourselves?" Or is it more idiomatic than that?]
Wir allein, wir sind hier, wir sind da
We alone, we're here, we're there...

    Komm und flieg mit mir
    Come and fly with me
    Über's Meer
    over the sea,
    Träum' vom weißen Sand
    dreams of white sand.
    Gib mir Deine Hand
    Give me your hand.
    Hör mir zu, uh
    Listen to me, oooh...

Niemand weiß, was wir beide erleben
No one knows what we both experience.
Niemals waren sich Wünsche so nah
Never were [our] wishes so close.
Niemand weiß, was wir beide uns geben
No one knows what we ***.
Wir allein, wir sind hier, wir sind da, wir sind ...
    We alone, we're here, we're there, we're...

I would say, your translation is right.
It means something like "we live for each other"
