You can find this on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdGda2tPew0
I have tried to have people who speak spanish and/or portugese translate this song and it seems too hard for them to translate, or maybe they were just being lazy and didn't want to i don't know. It is off of the album called Hecho Y Derecho or in english Doin' It Right. 1973. I love this song. I know the title at least says something like the street is tough or the streets are hard. i would love to know what the lyrics are saying. i can't find any kind of lyrics typed out anywhere or i would just translate it myself. i think the only way anybody is going to be able to translate it is to actually take the time to listen to it. i know joe cuba sextette has another song called a la seis which sounds a lot like this song but it's different.

I don´t understand all the lyrics, but there goes my attempt:

I'm from the caribean and I speak in spanish. I really like this song the difficult is to translate it to english. This is my worst best try

    --Salsa rhythm--
(chorus) At six o'clock is the apointment, don't forget to be there
(chorus) I have a lot of littler things I whant to tell you

(singer) I don't know what's happening with the holly Society
(singer) Some have a flu and other just envy

(chorus) At six o'clock is the apointment, don't forget to be there
(chorus) I have a lot of littler things I whant to tell you

(singer) Ohhh mari, my mother AAy consolation of the mortals
(singer) Protect me and guide me to the celestial land

(chorus) At six o'clock is the apointment, don't forget to be there
(chorus) I have a lot of littler things I whant to tell you

    --Conga comparsa rhythm--
(chorus) It isn't nothing or nothing, the street is very hard (2)

(singer) The street has become hard and it's not clear who's who
(singer) Hey look double face (hypocritical) I'm telling you are not my friend

(chorus) It isn't nothing or nothing, the street is very hard (2)

(singer) ehhhhhh (chorus)the street is very hard

(singer) play and play the lottery and never get anything

(chorus) the street is very hard

(singer) I wont even get a black coin

(chorus) the street is very hard

(singer) I need to get out (to the street) to work

(chorus) the street is very hard

(singer) in order to be able to buy a pretty cadillac

(chorus) the street is very hard

    (instrumental)

(chorus repeat 8 times) take care, you can fall (meaning you can fail in the very hard street)

(singer) walk, walk, walk, and walk (this is used to tell the musicians to continue or to advance)

(chorus repeat continously) the street is very hard

(singer between chorus) look, you are going to see what's the thing , and what's the end

(singer between chorus) the pumpkin and everything they are going to take it away from you

(singer between chorus) to Puerto Rico I'm going

(singer between chorus) in the mountain Lajara doesn't bother me

(singer between chorus) I'm going and continue "vacilando" (to have party)

(singer between chorus) hear, we are human, were really alike

(chorus) It isn't nothing or nothing, the street is very hard (2)

    Nice translation.
If it was your worst, then your best would be a masterpiece for sure.

    Keep up the good work.
