    The First Part:

    Booyeh Eidi, Booyeh Toop
The scent of Eidi*, the scent of the ball**
    Booyeh kâghaz rangi
    The scent of the confetti***
Booyeh tond e mâhi doodi vasateh sofreyeh no
The strong smell of the smoked salmon wrapped up in the newly bought tablecloth^
Booyeh yâs e jânamâz e termeyeh mâdarbozorg
The scent of jasmine from grandmom's cashmere prayer mat^^

Bâ inâ zemestoon o sar mikonam
With all of these things (dreams), I let the winter go by
    Bâ inâ khastegimo dar mikonam
With all of these things (dreams), I take away the boredom

Shâdiyeh shekstan e ghollak e pool
The joy of breaking the money box^^^
Vahshat e kam shodan e sekkeh Eidi az shemordan e ziyad
The fear of losing Eidi's coins by so much counting!*
Booyeh eskenâs e tâ nakhordeh lâyeh ketâb
The scent of the fresh banknote, (had been) put unbent in the book**

Bâ inâ zemestoon o sar mikonam
With all of these things (dreams), I let the winter go by

    Bâ inâ khastegimo dar mikonam
With all of these things (dreams), I take away the boredom

*Eidi: The money which is given to the children at the Nowruz holidays by their relatives as the festivity's gift. Sometimes even adults take this money as a gift.

** It refers to the ball which children use to play with each other. It connotates the rejoice of children.

*** For decorating Persian homes at Nowruz

^ Traditions: 1-The Persians eat fish and rice cooked with vegetables at the night before the new year. It is called "Sabzi Polo Mâhi".
2- Before Nowruz, Persian people buy new things, from clothes to even kitchen's facilities, because they want to use fresh things at the beginning of the year. It's believed that doing these things can bring luck to the family.

^^1-Jasmine represents the sweet smelling flowers in spring.
2-Prayer mat is the symbol of the religious beliefs, and grandmom shows that older people in Persian culture have stronger religious beliefs.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prayer_mat

^^^ In the past, and in the poor or middle class families, children were allowed to break their money boxes only at Nowruz, and bought everything they wanted.

    * One of the darkest lines in this poem. It represents the poor status of the child and the family.

** 1-The banknotes just like coins can be used as Eidi.
2- The book here could be referred to Quran, Divan of Hafez or Shahnameh. So, it shows the diversity in the beliefs of Persian people. Some of them are religious, some are nationalistic, and some of them are mystic.

    It indeed is a masterpiece

Question; Hasn't Benyamin Bahadori sung this song ?

    Unfortunately yes my dear friend.
The first time I heard it, I became sadly disappointed, cuz the new lyrics ruined everything. He converted this masterpiece into a very common love/dance song.

I agree with you guys, although I really like Benyamin's songs, I'm sure the song would have got more popularity if had sung the original lyrics, very beautiful words ..

For sure my dear friend, he has some nice songs in his repertoire.
But regarding this song, Benyamin should have paid much more attention to the theme of the song.

Let me exemplify my answer. Do you remember "Hung Up" by Madonna?
She actually made a cover of "Gimme Gimme Gimme",a masterpiece by "ABBA", but she could put nice lyrics into that rhythm and melody, just like what she did in "Sorry".
