That is so amazing! I hope it was at least a little bit pleasant and not too much trouble for anyone. I love all of the snow that northern Virginia and DC get, but they/we are equipped for it...warm winter clothes....and boots like these, even for girls

Today it's just more rain and i need to finish my Christmas shopping. Twice this month we've been teased with a few snowflakes but nothing on the ground.

Hope it hasn't been too bad for you Maviii, and thank you for the weather report

Here in Amman usually it snows around 20- 30 cm
but mom told me they used to have more than 1 meter in 60's and 70's
so for me this winter its the first time i see this much snow which is minimum 90 cm to 1 meter
We are actually stuck inside and i tried to remove some snow in the morning so i can get out the house..
Anyway i am enjoying the view and the serenity & the storm at night at least there is no cars noise anymore
    these days...
am just sorry for the broken trees around the house and before everything
those Syrian refugees in tents cannot stop thinking about them and all the poor people
god knows how they are doing in this very cold snowy days ;/

Coldest winter here in the mid-Atlantic in recent memory. We did in fact have a trace of snow twice in November, roughly 2 months earlier than normal over the past 30 years.

Classic climate science has strongly suggested that global temperature patterns run in approximately 30-year cycles. I have tons of temperature histories (downloaded from the Internet) that very much resemble that theory.

    Right on time?

Today I read that Bulgaria wants to send their Syrian refugees back to Syria, or somewhere. Their reasoning is that some of them may be AQ or other terrorists.

Some things going through my abstract mind right now:

    • Could never thank God enough for everything I have!
    • V A C A T I O N - worked enough this year, time to enjoy some well-deserved free time
    • Dolce far niente
    • If you have time to whine and complain about something then you have the time to do something about it.
    • No bloody snow in this city!!! But al7amdulillah, we are freezing!
    • The paradox of our times is that we have bigger buildings, but smaller souls; we have larger roads, but narrower minds. We spend more, but we have less; we buy more, but we enjoy less; we have bigger houses, but smaller families. We have more accessories, but less time; we have more positions, but less mind; more knowledge, but less reason; more experts and yet, more problems; more medicine, but less health. We drink too much, smoke too much, we spend recklessly, we laugh too little, drive too fast, get angry too much, sleep late, wake up too tired, read too little, watch too much TV and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our wealth, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too rare and hate too often. We learned how to gain our existence, but not how to make a life. We added years to life and not life to our years. We reached the moon and back, but we have problems when we have to cross the street and meet a neighbor, we conquered the cosmic space, but not the interior one. We made bigger things, but not better. We cleaned the air, but polluted the soil. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but realize less. We learned how to hurry, but not how to wait. We built more computers, to hold more information, but we communicate less and less. These are the times of fast-food and slow digestion, of big people and petty characters, of quick gain and superficial relations. These are the times in which we have two incomes, but more divorces, we have beautiful houses, but broken homes. These are the times in which we have lame morality, one night stands, overweight bodies and pills that induce you any state, from happiness to tranquility and death. (translated this from Romanian)
    • Cannot wait to go and buy some good books.
    • People are becoming more and more depressed and upside down ... tragic!!!
    • I'd rather be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring!
    • Decided to take painting lessons, all I need now is to find a good teacher!
    • Cannot wait for this year to end and start a NEW one! Hopefully some things will change, to better of course!
    • Soon, I will have 6 years on this Forum - where on this Earth did all these years go? Ya salaaaaaaam!

    • Last, but not least:

It's not suitable for Christmas, but seriously, it's the best historical fiction I've read in years.

    Nice imagery:
