*PRI, PAN & PRD are the three main political parties in Mexico


Quiero convertirme en el músico político
y construirle un piso al periférico

tendré que entrar en la historia de México
I want to become a musician-politician
And have a second floor built onto (Mexico City’s) ring road*
I want to put an end to the traffic jams,
I’ve got to enter into Mexico’s history

*Very famous and controversial project carried out a few years ago


Y luego miro al pesero que va medio pedo
jugando carreras con los pasajeros
pero él tiene que pasar primero
sin luces, sin frenos, junto al patrullero
que aunque no sepa leer
no sepa hablar
él es el que te brinda la seguridad
así lo tienes que respetar
porque él representa nuestra autoridad
And then I see a minibus driver, who’s half drunk,
Playing races with passengers on board,
But he must cross ahead of everybody else,
Without lights, without brakes, in front of a traffic cop
Who even though may not be able to read
Or speak properly
Is the one to afford you security,
So you have to respect him,
As he represents the authority

*Method of torture whereby sparkling mineral water is shaken and then squirted into the nostrils of the detainee

And if someone seeks to complain with “daddy” government,
When he asks for help they send him to hell,
Why do we need to make such a big fuss?
They will only make a fool of you

pero el bono sexenal nunca se traspapela
And in the queue of the complaints department
You’ll face a sea of stupid secretaries,
“next!” and so they get rid of you,
But the bono sexenal* never gets mislaid

*financial bonus given to the civil servants every six years, at the end of each presidential term

Which same as Molotov is Mexican too!
