Song about a Courtroom, Trial etc. Please help!

Hello, I wonder if anyone can help me? I am trying to remember a song - possibly from 60s/70s which is about a courtroom, trial, and possibly hanging sentence. It is somewhere in the back of my mind, but I just can't bring it out. (I think it was sung by a man)
