Question Please Help: This is driving me INSANE

I have been looking for a song for the better part of 12 years (I'm 21) and I honestly cannot remember the name of it or who sings it.
    All I remember is that:

It is ONLY a female singer (no backup singing, as far as I can remember)
    It's kind of 80's-ish
    It has a pop/upbeat feel
It's (without a shadow of a doubt) NOT Tom's Diner!
And all I can remember from it is:

    CHORUS:

"Do do do do do do do
do do do do do do do do
the beat goes ba bi doot do"

    or something along those lines.

hmm... close but not quite. The one I'm thinking of was more "poppy". Kinda like a Cyndi Lauper or a Madonna type of beat. Don't know if that helps but thanks for the effort in advance!

Are you saying that the song is "Walk On The Wild Side" ?

Sorry Mixalopolus. I meant that it was similar in tempo just not overall style.

I also meant that it was similar in style to some of Cyndi Lauper and Madonna. I venture a guess that it's similar in "Style" to "Straight Up" by Paula Abdul.

I apologize if it isn't making much sense. I suppose in easy terms its a "combo between Cyndi Lauper's singing and Straight Up's style"... if THAT makes any sense (sounds about right in my head)

Could it be Taylor Dayne "Tell It to My Heart"? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ud6sU3AclT4 Has the same musical sound as Straight Up and is upbeat and pop style.

Nope. I thought it was at first a few years back but you would have to actually hear it to catch what I meant.

I agree, sounds like "Two Times". Was late 90's too.

OK another wild guess from me:

Lavinia Jones "Sing It To You"

Nothing "80s" in that one, though...

Actually I was looking for the nu shooz song a long time ago, but that wasn't it. Lavina jones wasn't it either. I appreciate all the help folks, but I'm starting to think that I may never find the song...

I've been scouring the internet all day trying to find a song that features the chorus "doot, doot, doot, doot, doodoodoodoo, doot, doot, doot, doot, doodoodoodoo."

I could be wrong but perhaps we are looking for the same song!

If you hop on this keyboard:
