Here is the song, in case you want to hear it.

nice song, I'd like a translation, too.
Gott zur Ehr, dem nächsten zur Wehr

What if they gave a fire and nobody came.

    Аника Далински - Дороги

    Сильные руки меня обнимают,
    Powerful arms embrace me
Вдаль от разлуки на миг улечу.
For a moment I fly away, far from our parting
    Это мгновенье в ладонях сжимаю…
I hold tightly onto this moment…
    Это мгновенье я не отпущу.
I won’t let this moment go.

    Дороги, дороги…
    Roads, roads…
    Снова дурманят.
    Intoxicate (us) again (???)
    Каждая манит, зовет за собой.
Every single one beckons, calls after you.
    Дороги, дороги…
    Roads, roads…
    Если б вы знали,
    If you knew,
    Как мое сердце рвется домой.
How my heart breaks on my way home.

    Нежное утро, ветер беспечен,
The tender morning, the wind is carefree
Лишь в моем сердце огненный зной.
It’s just that in my heart there’s a fiery heat
    Эта минута – целая вечность,
This minute is a whole eternity,
Как бесконечность, до встречи с тобой.
Like an infinity, until I see you

    Долгие грозы, порывистый ветер.
    Long storms, gusting winds.
Путь мой нелегок, но я не грущу.
My path is not easy, but I’m not grieving.
    Тысяча звездных дорог на планете,
One thousand starry roads on the planet,
Но лишь одну я во мраке ищу.
But only one do I seek in the darkness

Hi, JunouLover. Thank you very much.

My native languae is Non-indo-european, and I've never learnt a language that has conjugation, declension, let alone cases. So Slavic languages seem extremely difficult to me. Yeah, I'm trying learning some Russian now.

Here is my try: (So many unkown words .... )

    Сильные руки меня обнимают,
    Strong arms hug me
Вдаль от разлуки на миг улечу.
    I don't know the meaning ...
    Это мгновенье в ладонях сжимаю…
    This moment ....
    Это мгновенье я не отпущу.
I won’t let the time go.

    Дороги, дороги…
    Roads, roads…
    Снова дурманят.
    .... once again
    Каждая манит, зовет за собой.
Every ... is calling for someone
    Дороги, дороги…
    Roads, roads…
    Если б вы знали,
    If you had known
    Как мое сердце рвется домой.
How my heart breaks on my way home.

    Нежное утро, ветер беспечен,
The ... morning, the wind is gentle.
Лишь в моем сердце огненный зной.
    In my heart ....
    Эта минута – целая вечность,
    One minute seams eternity,
Как бесконечность, до встречи с тобой.
    .... until I see you

    Долгие грозы, порывистый ветер.
    Longlasting storms, .... winds.
Путь мой нелегок, но я не грущу.
My path is not easy, but I don't feel sad.
    Тысяча звездных дорог на планете,
One thousand ... roads on the earth,
Но лишь одну я во мраке ищу.
But there is only one road that I've been looking for.

That's a really good start, man! Not bad at all. What's your native language? It can be really hard trying to make your brain think in a different way, particularly if you're not used to having to break down words, rather than just add on to them.

The cases can be really tough to master, and I totally don't have them down all the way. That's the main reason I'm horrible at conversations and have to use the internet to help me make sure I've got them correctly.

I'm getting better at them particularly since there in context, but when I still need to take a look at something I'll usually head over to en.wiktionary.org/, since they've got the declensions for all the Russian words. Additionally, wordreference.com/ruen is an excellent dictionary I use in conjunction with Wiktionary, which 99% of the time gets me exactly what I need. Other references I use are usually for more delicate things, like participles used in Russian and other things.

Good luck learning Russian! And I'll always try to help you out by translating stuff. But even if you don't put it on the forum, try to go through the song yourself and translate it, that way afterwards you can compare it and ask questions or whatever. I think that'd be a good idea.

Thank you, JunjouLover ) You're always helpful, and I totally agree with you.
My native language is Chinese, Mandarin. Sometimes, I understood the meaning, but I would fail in expressing it in English, which is also a foreign language to me (((
