Hi Safe1! As it is a kind of slang in Italian, probably!:

Here some of it: "Amiala ch'a l'aria amia cum a l'e

haven't checked if it has been translated into english, a helluva job surely

Yep, she was born in the Turkish part of Cyprus in 1975, then in the same year she emigrated to Britain with her parents. When she was 6 they came back. Later she studied in Istanbul and she's been living there ever since.

I'm not very sure about it but it seems to me that her Turkish is much softer.
Paul, as I listened to the song, her Turkish sounded softer than most Turkish. I didn't mention it at the time. Now I know this impression is accurate. Nice to know her background. Of course, you probably mean that her personal Turkish singing became softer once she returned to Istanbul...?

Thanks, safe1, for the song and the mention! You were absolutely right about the popularity of this thread (put into my own words): "Hang onto your hats, fellas, 'cause this is gonna be a wild ride!" So many songs in one morning--I have a lot of catching up to do!!

Again, fantastic idea, and so refreshing. Also . . . cathartic.

    Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaafeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey!

She seems to be FREEEEEEEEE. And just looking for a decent guy to become a father to her kids! So she told in an interview to Hurriyet.

Hadi man! You stand a chance - book a Turkish Airlines flight to IST and go and look for her! She's to known to give concerts at Greek clubs in Istanbul!

    Courage, mon fils!

Nope, I rather associated it with living in Cyprus through her young years and having contacts with the Greek language
