Default Solved: 60's psych song... "The dirtiness of dishes"

does any one know this song?..it's been stuck in my head for years

i think it's American (probably southern)

a few of the lyrics went something like..... "Dark is the color of my mi-i-ind, that deepens the ____ of my _____"

it was rather melancholy & softly sung with harmonies I believe, sort of recalling Love or WCPAEB, it also sounds a lot like the vocal style of Texas band Homer, but I doubt it was them as I've heard most of their stuff.

another part i remember is when a different sounding voice starts talk-singing in a southern-Dylan style something like...

"The dirtiness of dishes bring me down"

any help would be appreciated also, if anyone knows of any other forums that might be able to help.....
