"مين فينا"/"meen fina" (Lev. Colloquial)--what does it mean?

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone could tell me the colloquial meaning of "مين فينا" / "meen fina." There was a Turkish musalsal translated into Syrian on TV last year called "Ashraf meen fina," about a guy named Ashraf, so I just assumed the title meant sort of "Who do we have here--Ashraf?"

But now there's another musalsal starting this week called just "مين فينا" so I'm wondering again what it really means. BTW I did look but can't seem to find it in any of my Arabic dictionaries under "مين" or "في".

it's dialect, that's why you can't find it in dictionary (usually dictionary teach you Modern Standard Arabic/Classical Arabic)...

meen= from, feen (egyptian)= where... so it's : where are you from?

But it is an egypcian song and maybe in syria meen fina has another meaning

Wow, this is more interesting than I realized. Is it a common Syrian expression? I can't quite figure out when you'd use it. Isn't Ashraf just a personal name? I'm thinking of the actor Ashraf Abdel Baqi (not sure how to spell it) that Egyptian sitcom Rajul w 6 sittat or whatever. Or is an Ashraf somethiing else that you would have to wonder which of you was one?

It's common in Lev as you mentioned also in Eygpt.
Ashraf here is a person name, though it have another meaning but it's used as name also.
But here yes it's just a name
