'Mr. Blank, allow me to be frank with you'

A friend of mine is looking for a song. She walked into the record store about an hour ago and heard this song, but the only thing she could remember about it is one line from the lyrics:

"Mr. Blank, allow me to be frank with you"

That's it. She doesn't remember =anything= else and is going bonkers over not knowing the wonderful song she just heard an hour ago. If anyone at all can help us out here, it'd be awesome. Thanks in advance

It was an early 70s band...

I was just trying to remember who sang it and was able to find their CD online.... I might still have the LP, my parents got it at a neighbor's yard sale when I was a kid in the 80s...

I liked that song, it was cool.
