Zajdi, zajdi is a traditional Macedonian song right? I like the way Tose Proeski covered it .

Right, Zajdi Zajdi is Macedonian and I also love Proeski's cover very much. Welcome.

This is a song from my childhood...I know my taste will not match many people's tastes here, but oh well. There's all kind of raging in Balkans, amaryn!

Soooo good. I'm very happy you like EKV also. They were one of the best groups we had back then. You are Serbian?

Amaryn, this thread could be very addictive for me. I almost listen only to Turkish music as you know, but I'm already feeling very nostalgic.

I'm from Montenegro, but I don't think that makes a big difference. I love Serbia , even though it's not quite my country anymore.. Where are you from?

It makes a big difference only to those who consider it to make a big difference. I understand you very well.
I am from Bosnia, but some family is in Serbia.
I am sincerely hoping you like older rock music from Balkans. I have a feeling I might be lonely with my taste here if not.

(sorry, amaryn, am I already getting off the topic?)

I have family in Bosnia and some friends in Serbia. I don't really make a big difference between the nations in Balkan (and by Balkan I mean old Yugoslavia).. We were once one nation, and we still kinda are, because people outside Europe still look at us as if we were one nation, and we speak the same language. Btw, it's a little bit strange talking to you in English xD

And, I adoreeeeeee, absolutely adore ex-yu rock!

And, just because I don't want to go off topic, here's a song for you Balkan music lovers:

It's nice that you have this attitude.
And yes, it is a bit strange, but let's only speak our language when we're talking badly about other people, okay?

Amaryn, we need a dance song now and maybe you will like this, maybe not, but I hope...Poli, I have no idea how old you are to remember this, but this song...I think it was summer of 2000. Loved it.

I also appreciate what you said here. And this is the "nation of ATL" or I should say the world of ATL, and for us that's all that matters?

And amaryn since you created this topic, I should repost this classic? but i found a great "live" version ...

"too techno"? Well I don't think so my friend, not at all.

    THIS is "too techno"

I love the accordion on this house<>trance tune

But I'm sorry amaryn for "corrupting" your Balkan topic and I won't do it anymore
    (...fingers crossed behind my back...)

ROFL... Sade almost always dislikes even the slightest techno sound in my songs. "" She lives to oppose me. (Öldürme lütfen Sade!!!) Just kidding, Sade has amazing taste and İ'm sure that she'll love it. /

And nice to see you here Jandros. Now İ won't be the only one to corrupt this thread! (*thinking aloud* İ wonder if amaryn will allow Turkish songs here... İt's partly Balkans. )

thanks for the "welcome" partizanka, and I have a long-standing love affair with Balkan music that started before I even knew what it was

As for Turkish, well I just posted "something Rus' " (actually from Ukraine I think, i.e. Kievan Rus') and very questionable for this topic, so if amaryn wants to ban anyone as an "object lesson" I think it would be me ... so Yeah, Go For It!

@Jandros! Dzelem dzelem I have in my repertoire as we have performed this for years with 6 guys around Europe! 6 guitars and voices.
It is a very demanding and attractive - for me also a nostalgic song. It obviously is known widespread across the Balkan countries!
