A true "Tornado Story" from my own family. My daughter posted the following on Facebook:

Should i be worried that when we were headed for the basement today to hide from the tornados that my nine-year-old said he was going to get us some "provisions," and proceeded to grab the bottle of wine from the frig with the announcement: "I got the wine" ?

My 13-yr-old grandson "TN" was talking with his best friend "WK" who went on a special family Caribbean cruise to Jamaica:

"WK" said: "Wow! The trip was great! Those Jamaicans,* though, they're wild--they're crazy!"

    "TN" said: "Why?--Ja-make-'em mad??"
[ . . . "Jamaica 'em mad?" = "Did ya make 'em mad?"]
    _ _ _ _ _

    * I hope no offense is taken by anyone. He may have been referring to the cab drivers, who (I've heard often) drive wildly and fast through the city streets!

An ad comes on TV that makes me laugh every time! It's for a true show that is called "Untold Stories of the E.R." [Emergency Room]. One shot shows a guy from the rear-view trotting down an E.R. corridor unclothed, small spots of blood all over him . . . (important parts are "blurred out"!)

This is from the actual show, not the ad (the ad is even funnier!).

The E.R. physician is saying deadpan into the camera:

"Why do people always seem to be naked . . . when they fall on a cactus?"

It kills me! I laugh every time, because I wonder what antics these people have been up to and agree --"why would anyone be naked near a cactus??"

    -------
P.S. - Guaranteed--from the cactus in my yard--one little tiny, barely see-able needle in the finger is soooooo painful! Once I think of that, I'm not laughing any more. :S

Yet each time, the TV ad makes me laugh--the look of incredulousness on the doctor's face!!!

Comedian George Carlin, describes himself using tech-language, idioms and phrases. I'd love to transcribe this one day just to be able to absorb all that he says--he speaks so quickly!

Default "Duck Dynasty" - A&E TV Show

A sampling of a show called "Duck Dynasty" on Arts & Entertainment network. This family is from backwoods Louisiana and are self-proclaimed rednecks. It is not a show for the faint-hearted, easily offended, pacificistic, or those with a delicate constitution! . . .For 40 years, this family made a living carving "duck calls." Duck calls are a kind of whistle that simulates a duck's call, attracting more ducks, to be shot & eaten by hunters. From a small business, their "enterprise" turned into worldwide distribution and a multi-million dollar entrepreneurship . . . yet the family still lives in the same old backwoods home. If you can understand their deep Southern accent, it's pretty funny!
