Hi, it's by ΓΙΩΡΓΟΣ ΚΟΝΙΤΟΠΟΥΛΟΣ - ΤΟ ΛΟΥΛΟΥΔΑΚΙ ΤΟΥ ΜΠΑΞΕ
The flower of Baxe.
Το λουλουδάκι του μπαξέ / the flower of Baxe
το λουλουδάκι του μπαξέ / the flower of Baxe
το λουλουδάκι του μπαξέ / the flower of Baxe
πως θα με πάρει μου τάξε / to make my vow
Το λουλουδάκι του βουνού / the flower of the mountain
το λουλουδάκι του βουνού / the flower of the mountain
το λουλουδάκι του βουνού / the flower of the mountain
δε μ' άφησε καθόλου νου / it took my mind
Έλα να πάμε εκεί που λες / come and go where you say
έλα να πάμε εκεί που λες / come and go where you say
έλα να πάμε εκεί που λες / come and go where you say
που κάνουν τα πουλιά φωλιές / where the birds make their nests
Έλα να πάμε στο νησί / let's go to the island
έλα να πάμε στο νησί / come and go to the island
έλα να πάμε στο νησί / come and go to the island
η μάνα σου εγώ και εσύ / your mother, you and I

Ρεμπέτικο για πάντα. Μάγκες είμαστε.
Hi Mixalopoulos
thanks so much for the such a wonderful lyrics ,, it has so beautiful meaning and nice words, i like it so much,,,
come and go to the island
is the word island in this song refer to Crete island ?
I really don't know if it's referring to Crete or another island. It could be cause the sound seems to be cretan but almost all Greek island have similar sounds and also the last name of the singer doesn't indicate that he's Cretan. Usually Cretan last names end in -akis.
FYI Cretans are Greeks as well and speak the Greek language. So I think you should say "is it from Crete or the mainland".
Άνθρωποι τύχης είδωλον επλάσαντο, πρόφασιν ιδίης αβουλίης.

Giorgos Konitopoulos was born in Athens but lived for many years in Naxos (an island in the Cyclades group of islands - next to Paros).
"the flower of the garden" (το λουλουδάκι του μπαξέ) is a traditional song of Cyclades islands complex, that conforms to that particular style of Cycladic songs.
Not a Cretan song.
The most charming creatures on this earth. The only women who can show what they feel and, they do feel.
Stunning feeling...to just meet them.
