May I add a personal note? In German "Das macht Sinn (für mich)" gets more and more usual today (under influence of English maybe) and it's not wrong at all. But you chosed the form, I'd prefer: "Das ergibt (für mich) einen Sinn".

Corrections are welcome at any time! I learned the irregular forms and I'm even a big big fan of our germanic triad ("Dreiklang"). Ich singe, ich sang, ich habe gesungen. (I sing, sang, sung) - the more it departs (in time), the duller it gets - I love to see the physical and emotional world being reflected in (our) language(s) that way. Actually all Germans should speak English very well and firm. It's so easy for us - in theory. But in my case...
