Fey, she was, a Shetland.
When she arrived upon my door
I took one look and knew
I had a friend forevermore.
She took me by the brook to play,
At night she lay by my side.
Oh, I would have died for her
in the moment of any day.
She took my breath o' her look,
Caramel, brown and white.
I still see her in my dreams today
And though I wish I might have her
Again another day,
The time is past and I am grown.
A Shetland she was, and fey.

Hi F. J. Thanks for this beautiful poem, you made me return to my chilhood, I remembered a Dog I had, so I share your feelings cause the pets are not pets, they become part of us, they live forever in ourselves, and remember too when I was a kid watching the t.v. serie Lassie. You almost made me cry. You are a number one.
Yes, sorry. I asked the moderators if I could combine the stray 3 or 4 poems into one thread . . . but that did not work out very easily.
That's when I started the Frankie's Poems / Prose / Proverbs . . .
And . . . do I hear a dog howling all the way from the West Coast? . . .
Ah,sorry for what?I said,"Double your pleasure,It's double My Shetland,it's twice as fun pet land"!Yes,that was my dog Spot, and my kiids;D**k and Jane.Bow-wow!!I can't believe they censored that!!!!!!
