I have no idea why all the song's i'm liking have religious connotations! Thank you Momper

Could anyone tell me what the song means? I mean what is it referring to?

IMO he is asking God for a lot of thinks such as keep his mother alive, be remembered by his father, stay with his love, to stop with the violence however I don't think it has a religious connotation I see it more like a love song.
