I transcribed pretty much every lyric from here. It's a request from a friend who sent me this link. I'm stumped.

    Here I stand
My head is full of sorrow
    Emptiness
    I leave this place tomorrow

    Way of life
    They drive me crazy
    Even folks
    So cool and lazy
Now's the time I think I'm going home

Ocean blue you were my only friend
Fold your lips ? and cast a palte of sand?
    Sweeter than milk and honey
    But don't forget the money
If you don't want to end up on your own

Paradise your heart is cold as ice
If we can pay the price
    Can pay the price

Paradise you seem to be the light
    Shining over bright
    ?Blue night?
    Shining the night

    In your arms
You seem to keep us warm
    And ?...?
    Smooth and calm
    Out of the storm

    East and west
    Its always just the same
    North or south
It can be joy or pain
    Businesses spinning round
Plant your feet back on the ground
Try to see the good things you have passed

Paradise your heart is cold as ice
If we can pay the price
    Can pay the price

Paradise you seem to be the light
    Shining over bright
    ?Blue night?
    Shining the night

    In your arms
You seem to keep us warm
    And ?...?
    Smooth and calm
    Out of the storm

GameOver asked about the same song a while back here. It hasn't been solved yet.

The song sounds familiar, but I'm not sure if that's just because the song reminds me of The Moody Blues.

It doesn't sound '70s at all to me, and it doesn't sound anything like The Moody Blues to me, either. Those artificial keyboard strings are at least from the '80s, maybe later. The percussion and overall sound seems very Latin to me. Sorry that I don't recognize the group or song, though.

It is possible that this is 1982 ... but it is not exactly ...

I can hear The Moody Blues influence in some of the arrangement-- anyone hear Cities, the B Side for Nights in White Satin? It reminds me a lot of that. Same key, methinks.

70's was a guess, judging by how well that vinyl seems to have aged. Well, it sounds like it was recorded off Vinyl, but yeah, I hear what sounds like ELO's synths in there (Oberheim? DX for the bells?). I'm guessing 80's would be a better guess. =) Thanks.

What bugs me is I swear I've heard that rhyme, "Paradise, your heart is cold as ice," before; maybe my dad has it, I'll have to ask him later.

EDIT: I might have found a link, just searching off the chorus. In a German forum, someone mentioned the line:

There is a nice melodic rock song of Sunrise called "Paradise"

(Google Translate from original German of 'Es gibt da ein nettes Melodic Rock Lied von Sunrise namens "Paradise"')

    Topic here:

    Anyone knows if Sunrise was a band I'm not aware of? ^^;;

Do they sound similar, despite the complete genre and mood change? I think so.
