    Nothing New

We used to be in love
    Now we just fight
    There is no kindness
In the voices that say goodnight

We've been apart for so long
    I guess it's no surprise
    When I talk to you
I don't get the same rise

    Memories still haunt me
Memories of what used to be you
    Now you feel nothing
    I have found something new

    You're almost the same
    As you were before
    Now our wild days
    Have turned into war

    Taking turns at breaking hearts
    Used to be a game
    We grew up, moved on
    It doesn't feel the same

    Memories still haunt us
Memories of what used to be true
    Now we feel nothing
    We have found something new

I used to cry over my thoughts
I had lost what I loved most
Now I know what I still loved
Was nothing more than your ghost

    An emotion that still lingers
    A feeling trapped in time
A broken heart that will not heal
    Thoughts wrapped in a rhyme

    Memories still haunt me
Memories of what used to be you
    Now you feel nothing
    I have found something new

I'd like an honest critique of this one...

This is really deep..perhaps because I feel like I can almost relate. But it's really great!

I feel a lot of pain in this song. It's bitter, honest and heartfelt. If writing songs is about conveying emotions, this song really stands out

Each stanza of this song contributes well to the overall message. There is pain, and regret here along with a touch of remembered anger as the singer, while moving on as best as possible, is still touched ('Memories still haunt me") by what has been lost.

I like it a lot. I like your style. Reminds me of someone I used to write with... a lot. A good friend of mine. Ever been interested in doing that?
