Do homes always have to be so elaborate? Could we not take a hint from indigenous peoples, who live simply, comfortably enough, and yet happy? "Trondheim" by Norweigian architecture firm, Haugen/Zohar Arkitekter:

For everyone to admire, but especially Amethystos--Frank Lloyd Wright houses. FLW (death 1959) designed and built homes with the concept that the "natural space" on which the home was to be built should dictate how the house should be designed:

But this is too unique to call it someone's "home"!
It's like if you're supposed to live in a museum, scared of any accident that may happen.
I might be feared of even touching anything while in there.

But what an INSPIRATION! An eye's delight for sure!

As for the "The Falling Waters House" I had already seen it.
The main thing is that Frank Lloyd Wright was trully beyond his generation.
BUT ... I'm not an admirer of rectangular solids inside a landscape. Not to mention CEMENT rectangular solids.
"Straight line" is a human mind's idea.
Nature, even after a microscoping view in crystallic structure, "refuses" straight lines.
But this is my taste after all!

Everything you say about FLW, I agree with, Amethystos--and, yes, your response is typically "you"! Liking natural designs of God and in nature. FLW was ahead of his time, but as you say, solid rectangles are a bit hard on the sensibilities, especially when it's the extra large exteriors! I do like his interior styles, but I could never be a FLW purist. As mentioned, I like arches and curves, which gives a feeling of coziness, softness, and comfortableness.

That brings me to the "nautilus shell" house. It's rather small, but I could be perfectly comfortable if I lived there by myself, assuming it has a kitchen and a bathtub/toilet! But for Big Guy and me, it would just be too small! I am sooooooo glad you liked it, though! It makes me happy when I hit on something a friend also likes!! "Spread the joy!" or whatever! Ha! Liked your description--"museum"!

P.S. The only thing I miss in the nautilus shell house is the large expanse of windows; but then that would defeat the original, "natural" design, wouldn't it? Somehow the designer got "light" into the shell anyway!!
