Default Solved: late 60's early 70's song

Please help! I have been trying to find the lyrics and artist of a song I had on 8 track when I was a kid. The part I remember is like this : Were living in thre day of the gun,are you proud of what we've become, look around us everyone, were living in the day of the gun. We shot our leader down that day in Dallas ,with his woman by his side the world was stunned but, the future was planning some more with us ,were living in the day of the gun.I have tried everywhere to find this with no luck. anyone have any ideas?

An "Up" of your older request http://www.allthelyrics.com/forum/id...find-song.html would have been enough too!
Found a song from 1969 with the title "Day of the gun" by Gordon Terry but i have no more idea about it
