    Default Klamydia - Pohjanmaalla (Finnish)

Finnish speakers, please take a moment to check if my translation is correct and help me with what I couldn't figure out by myself. Thank you

    Pohjanmaalla

    Joku hyljeksii, joku pelkää
Joku on saanut siellä lujaa selkään
    Niin tasaista, latomerta
Harva se päivä, joku vuotaa verta

    Toinen reppana, turvautuu nuoraan
Kun on asiat sanottu sille liian suoraan
    Ei välii, miestä taikka naista
    Vihataan kaikkee, kaikkee erillaista

    Mutta heimoani minä rakastan

    Alkaa P:llä loppuu A:lla
    Hienoo olla Pohjanmaalla
    Pellot tasaiset, mut kotiin johdattaa
    Alkaa P:llä loppuu A:lla
    Hienoo olla Pohjanmaalla
Vain maa pysyy, muu pois katoaa, katoaa

No mä kävelin, pellon reunaa pitkin
    Joskus nauroin, joskus taasen itkin
    Ja kirosin tulta tappuraa
    Kun ei tullu Kyröjoesta appuraa

    Asuu porukka pikkuisen kummallinen
    Keskellä heinäseipäiden ja latojen
Mutta on tää paras paikka maailman
    Vaikkei täältä saakkaan sitä merianturaa

    Ja heimoani minä rakastan

    Alkaa P:llä loppuu A:lla
    Hienoo olla Pohjanmaalla
    pellot tasaiset, mut kotiin johdattaa
    Alkaa P:llä loppuu A:lla
    Hienoo olla Pohjanmaalla
Vain maa pysyy, muu pois katoaa, katoaa

    Alkaa P:llä loppuu A:lla
    Hienoo olla Pohjanmaalla
    pellot tasaiset, mut kotia johdattaa
    Alkaa P:llä loppuu A:lla
    Hienoo olla Pohjanmaalla
Vain maa pysyy, muu pois katoaa
Vain maa pysyy, muu pois katoaa

Ostrobothnia (that's the English name of Pohjanmaa, however later I use the Finnish name)

    Someone ostracizes, someone is scared
Someone out there has been hit hard on the back
    (?)
Nearly every day someone is bleeding

Another poor thing resorts to a rope
When things have been said to directly to it
Not a (?), man or woman
We hate everyone, make everyone different

    But I love my clan

Begins with P ends with A
    Pohjanmaa is great
    Flat fields lead me home
Begins with P ends with A
    Pohjanmaa is great
Only earth remains, the rest disappears, disappears

Well I walk along the side of the field
Sometimes I laughed, while at times I cried
    And I cursed (?)
    (?)

    A little, strange group lives
    Among hay bales and barns
But this is the best place in the world
Even though there are those ponds all the way from here

    And I love my clan

Begins with P ends with A
    Pohjanmaa is great
    Flat fields lead me home
Begins with P ends with A
    Pohjanmaa is great
Only earth remains, the rest disappears, disappears

Begins with P ends with A
    Pohjanmaa is great
    Flat fields lead me home
Begins with P ends with A
    Pohjanmaa is great
Only earth remains, the rest disappears, disappears
Only earth remains, the rest disappears, disappears

    Default Klamydia - Pohjanmaalla

Klamydia - To be in Pohjanmaa

Someone shuns you, someone is scared
Someone has been badly beaten there
So flat land, a sea of hay-barns
Almost every day, someone is bleeding.

Another wretched one resorts to a rope (2)
When things have been said to him too directly
It does not matter, whether you are man or woman
We hate everyone, everyone who is different. (3)

But I love my tribe (4)

It begins with P, it ends with A
It is great to be in Pohjanmaa
The flat fields lead me to home
It begins with P, it ends with A
It is great to be in Pohjanmaa
Only the land remains, everything else disappears, disappears

Well I was walking, along the side of the field
Sometimes I was laughing, sometimes I was crying
and was cursing fire and brimstone (5)
When I was not able to catch perch form the Kyrö river.

A group of sligthly wierd people, are living
    among the hay-poles and hay-barns.
But this is the best place of world to be,
Even thouhg we can not catch flatfish here. (6)

    And I love my tribe

It begins with P, it ends with A
It is great to be in Pohjanmaa
The flat fields lead me to home
It begins with P, it ends with A
It is great to be in Pohjanmaa
Only the land remains, everything else disappears, disappears

It begins with P, it ends with A
It is great to be in Pohjanmaa
The flat fields lead me towards to my home
It begins with P, it ends with A
It is great to be in Pohjanmaa
Only the land remains, everything else disappears, disappears
Only the land remains, everything else disappears, disappears

    (1) The swedish name "Österbothnia" means "East-side of the gulf" or
"east-side of the bottom", but this name is rarely used in Finland.
Finnish word "Pohja" can mean both "bottom" and "north", so
"Pohjalainen" is sometimes translated as "North-lander". However, This
"north-land" should not be confused with "Nordland" county in Norway.

    (2) In pohjanmaa area the traditional suicide method for men is hanging.
Women go to drown themselves into river.

    (3) "kaikkee" could be also translated "everything and everyone"

    (4) "Pohjalaiset are curious branch tribe, which appears to be mixture
of Häme and Savo tribes, diluted with some Swedish blood. They are
industrous, brave, fiery and boastful people. They are hard-working
farmers, and are skillful craftsmen." (Hänninen, 1929)

    (5) "Tappura" ("tow") is the coarse waste fibre from flax and hemp,
which can not be used to make cloth. Tappura is used as insulation
material and upholstery stuffing, and when not compacted it ignites
easily. The term "Tulta ja tappuraa" is used as a curse, and would be
translated at "fire and tow" or "fire and kindling". The nearest
english equivalent is the "fire and brimstone".

    (6) Dover Sole or Common Sole is salt-water flatfish, which is
considered to be the best-tasting fish. It can be caught at southern
areas of Baltic sea, but not in Gulf of Bothnia.

Wish I could thank you twice, for the review and the explanations; most of times you won't receive a reply that good!
