Hey, Doug, a little graphic in the first verse, but then so are some other singer/songwriters I like--Keb' Mo, Dixie Chicks, Train's 'Move Like Jagger' and many others. This song rocks. I am not repeating "lingo" here. I mean it. I can hear it, see it, be it, the whole package is there.

The nostalgic references are not what "get me." The whole composition flows like a cool, fast stream through the woods--nobody could resist listening, stopping to breathe in the fresh air, and dipping their toes in!! Very good job!

Hi Doug, I hope we can see and hear this lyrics in a video, if someone can perform it, it´s gonna be a classic, the first for the 2000´s, the old school is never out, and you are right, the old things remain or come back in fashion, is a shame that I am not a music man to sing this amazing retro song. P.S. I have to admit to loving the Jack LaLanne reference! A few years ago, his old B&W TV shows were re-aired on ESPN excercise mornings and I'd tune in! He was fantastic! He really knew people, especially women. He talked to them with such dignity (especially for that "man-rules" era). Sometimes I'd exercise with him, but sometimes I'd just watch and listen because he really had a dynamic, engaging personality, and even inspiring things to say. He knew who his audience was at that time (1950s???). During the "commercial breaks" which he referred to on these old films, they would air modern Jack LaLanne commercials for things he and his family were still selling (e.g., juicers). I liked the show so much that I sent off for a hat and T-shirt!! "I exercise with Jack LaLanne"!!! I smile every time I see my T-shirt!

He died not that long ago . . . at age 96. He was born in 1914 when the average lifespan of an American male was age 52!

Thanks,Frankie,I wasn't sure anybody would know or get that reference.Glad you did and shed a little light on Jack.He was born in San Francisco(as was health food pioneer Gypsy Boots/Robert Bootzin)and would do stunts that were reported on the local news channels there.He would swim from Fisherman's Wharf to Alcatraz(with his hands cuffed)and swim underwater the length of the Golden Gate Bridge.(with air tanks and towing something,if memory serves)His T.V. Show was aired originally in late 50's early60's in Black and White,before color T.V. shows or sets!A lot of information for a rhyme!

The "rhyme" deserves it.

Okay you don't hear the song that way, I wouldn't want you to stifle the creativity you obviously have. So, write the song the way you hear it then finesse it into the form you want it to be in. Make that hook jump and jam in the right spot.

Think of it like sex, there are some moves that get it done but then there are some moves that get it done and then some!

Yes, for me this song really gets it done! This is not about being backdated because you can't keep up with the modern times (and you can't tell an iPod from an iPad). This is like: say it loud, I'm old school and I'm proud.
