Song that sounds like "walk of life" by Dire Straight and "Rough Gem" by The islands

I heard this song a lot in the 90's i believe. It has the same sound as the opening of "walk of life" and the same feel/sound as "Rough Gem" by islands. I can't remember lyrics or the artists. I know it's a long shot, but please help me if you can! Thanks in advance. It was more of a lite rock song if i can remember correctly.

Both examples you gave, plus the suggestion I made, have what I call "mechanical drums"--drums that sound like somebody just switched on a drum machine (another such drum track is found on "Steppin' Out" by Joe Jackson)--and the melody reminds me of "Young Turks" on the second song you mentioned.

Kind of close, sorry I'm not giving a lot of info to work with, but I can only barely remember hearing this song. The song I'm thinking of has the same piano/organ type of sound from the beginning of walk of life, but I believe the song I'm thinking of has an overall slower tempo...
