    Wianie ruta la prysadał
    Czarniawaja dziauczynońka, nie prynada 2x

I nie jełby i nie piłby
    Da dzaiłczyny czornabrywaj, palaciełby 2x

    Palaciełby, dy nia muszu
Razlubiła czarniawa ja, serce duszu 2x

    Ci ty pjany, ci zchmialiłsia
Szto w takuju niekrasiwu ty wlubiłsia 2x

    Ja nie pjany, nie zchmialiłsia
U dziawoczy czorny woczy, ja wlubiłsia 2x

This is another song I like, but I cannot find the origins of this song. I have heard that this song is a Belorusian or Ukranian song, though this could be some Polish translation of a song from Belarus or Ukraine, or even Russia. Maybe this is a Lithuanian song, but I have no idea what this song is about. Google translate does not properly translate this song. I would not mind an english translation, though this could be hard since it appears to be a rather unique song.

This can be moved to the Polish board, if this is in Polish. This could also be one of those languages listed above, but in a Polish transliteration. I would not also mind the original lyrics in the original alphabet. Maybe someone from the Podlaskie area of Poland could help me. Who knows what this song is about, but I think it is a religious song either Catholic or Orthodox, but I am just guessing.

    Any response would be great.

It's certainly not Russian, seems a lot like Polish. I'm native-speaking Russian and Ukrainian, I can't translate it whole (I understand only 2 last verses).

It's not Polish. It's likely a Belarussian dialect. However, you must realize that in Eastern Poland there's a Belarussian minority. How did you get this text ?

A rue smells over here at the orchards,
    A black-haired girl attracts me...

    I wouldn't eat, I wouldn't drink,
I'd run to the black-browed girl

I would run, even if I haven't to...
That black one has enamoured my heart, my soul

Are you drunken ? are you tipsy ?
That you've fallen in love with such an unpretty one ?

I'm not drunken, I'm not tipsy,
She has black eyes, (so) I've fallen in love

I found this text by searching for Wianie Ruta on Google! The artist was listed as Ruskie, but Time, Vegas, and some Choir have made their their own version. I am sure others in that community have made their own version.

    http://www.lyrics80.com/RUSKIE-WIANI...-LYRICS/33950/

    Here are the lyrics.

This song is also known as Czarniawaja dziewczynionka by Seven. I also saw this being listed as bialoruski piosenki, which implies it is a Belarusian song.

I can confirm this is in Belarussian, according to Google translate.

Though Google Translate cannot translate the entire song, so it has to be a dialect. It can translate some words, and it might not have the correct translations. The words that could be translated were similar to what bandizol20 was able to come up with.

Another version of Wianie Ruta (вяне рута)

This version above is a rock version. But there are other versions with different lyrics. I think the first post is the Eastern Polish version of this song. I do not know if this is the original lyrics or not. I have no idea where this song originated, but I believe it originated in Belarus or the Russian Empire, or Eastern Poland. I would not mind if the post above gets translated, as there might be someone who can understand the lyrics above as they are in cyrillc and not in Polish/Lacinka alphabet.

    1. Вяне рута ля прысадаў; / чарнявая дзяўчынанька - мне дасада! / bis
    2. І ня піў бы, і ня еў бы,- / да чарнявае дзяўчыны паляцеў бы! / bis
    3. Паляцеў бы, ды ня мушу: / распаліла чарнявая сэрца, душу. / bis
    4. Распаліла, да й палае, / сама села на крылечку, да й думае. / bis
    5. - Ці ты п'ян быў, ці змыліўся, / што ў такую некрасівую ўлюбіўся? / bis
    6. - Я ня п'ян быў, не змыліўся - / у дзявочы ясны вочы улюбіўся! / bis

Found this on another site as well, I too would not mind a translation of this as I want to see how this compares to Bandizol20's translation of the Eastern Polish version.
