    Default Danced until midnight

i first saw her sat in the corner
so i started walking toward her
but my mouth went dry and my brain went numb
and the words they just wouldnt come

so i looked at her and she looked back at me
as soon as our eyes met i could see
that she could be the one for me
but she'll never know if i never speak

an awkward silence then i asked her her name
and she said hayley and i said hey hey
do you believe in love at first sight
she nodded her head and we danced till midnight

    bridge

    danced until midnight
    danced until midnight
    danced until midnight
    danced until midnight

    chorus

the dancefloor was empty but we didnt care
it didnt really matter that nobody else was there
something about it just felt so right
as we held hands and danced until midnight

    danced until midnight
    danced until midnight
    danced until midnight
    danced until midnight

now id never given love a chance
id only just passed grade one romance
i never saw myself sat here
but it feels so right and i feel so free

i never really left my home
cus I have a fear of the unknown
but for just tonight it seems
the grip is loosened on me

    chorus

the dancefloor was empty but we didnt care
it didnt really matter that nobody else was there
it felt so special it felt so right
as we held hands and danced until midnight

The idea of a guy living at home has lots of relevancy. Even in the U.S. where middle-American kids used to leave home at age 18 to begin their own independent, adult lives, the trend has changed dramatically. Now children are frequently living with their parents through their 20s, sometimes into their 30s. Many can identify with the situation.

I like the idea of a guy who doesn't present himself as "knowing it all" in the romance arena. These lines are my favorites:

an awkward silence then i asked her her name
and she said hayley and i said hey hey... [clever and catchy]

...now id never given love a chance
id only just passed grade one romance...

...but it feels so right and i feel so free

i never really left my home
cus I have a fear of the unknown
but for just tonight it seems
the grip is loosened on me...

Now that I re-read the lyrics, the guy might not live with parents! He may live alone, in his shyness. Either way--living with parents, living alone--the impact is the same. Transformation of someone's life who dared to step out of the ho-hum pattern, and had SUCCESS! 4-line chorus is good also, emphasizing the activity symbolically.

    I like it.
