I want to make a channel where I put up videos that include short songs, since I'm a lyricist and I want to be noticed. Not for a music deal but just to entertain people of the hip-hop/rap world. Any suggestions?

I Googled "How to make a You Tube Channel." One video is older and simpler--things may have changed since then. The second video is from 2010--that too may be outdated, but it's worth a shot. The second video has much more detail and SOUNDS more confusing because the guy makes a big deal about choosing a name, etc., and is talking about something I know nothing about.
When I set up my You Tube Channel 3 or 4 yrs. ago, I didn't plan on making a channel AT THAT MOMENT. I was just going to get the process started. However, I discovered there is no "draft" or "trial" You Tube--what you start setting up will make a Channel right then. So make sure you have a free 30-90 minutes to get started.
OK. Here's the older, simpler video:

And here's the more detailed one from 2010:

NOTE: Here's some advice that looks like it might be more up-to-date and simple from e-How. No video, just simple instructions which mentions "Google" which I think is now necessary to set up a You Tube account:

And a You Tube Help "get started" page:

Hope this helps you . . .
