Hi, friends. I really need some help from Arabic native or near-native speakers. I am helping a friend of mine, Henrique Tabchoury, his Lebanese baba left a huge collection of old Arabic lps and 78 rpms, that´s the biggest collection of those kind here in Brazil. The collection is beeing uploaded into my youtube channel, in order to let them public again. But who can help us with the song Ya fatiha alkosi (translated as "the cross" into Portuguese)?
Apparently the first part was composed by the famous Egyptian poet Ahmad Chauki and the second song seems to be an “answer” written by Neme Kazan, a Lebanese rised in Brazil. I just beg someone to write it using Arabic letters and to correct what we wrote using the trasliteration system. I translated from PORTUGUESE to English (using the poem of the same title published by Neme Kazam in his book). As I do not know many words in Arabic, I have no idea if the poem is similar to the song. So, if someone could translate the song from Arabic to English, it would be a real gift. Thank u in advance. Hugs, Livia.

PRIMEIRA PARTE / First Part
Oh, you, conquer of the Holy Land
Let your thiumphant sword beside
of the harsh victory that seduces you.
The cross were not of iron
But wood.
If you could see how far it reached
and how its sacred image
won from generation to generation ...
You would know that, behind the fragility,
There is a sublime and compelling force,
and that victory, the only victory
never comes by force.
It comes with Truth.
SECOND PART
Oh, tu, conquistador da Terra Santa!
Abandona essa espada ensangüentada
porque logo uma outra se levanta
pois a espada é vencida pela espada!
A espada falha, e cai desamparado
O you, conqueror of the Holy Land!
Leave this bloody sword
just because another rises
for the sword is defeated by the sword!
The sword fails, and falls destitute
all the right that it won.
God himself has been unsheathed
as a sword ... God himself failed.
The sword hurts the unvalued flesh
and kills the wretched body that exalts it,
but breaks in faith when it jumps
like a lion on the conqueror.
If you are the glowing sword of Truth,
Be a martyr before the iniquity
Be a victim of the faith, because the Truth
Only won when it was crucified
The erected cross on the cliff
giving a way to all humanity,
is only a symbol of sacrifice.
It was not iron, nor was wood!
