Well I want to improve my freestyles as quickly as possible, and I figured you guys were the best of the best here, no offense to anyone, and I've noticed you are all busy with the freestyle thread so I wanted to make this one so no one else gets mixed in. Also, I have some ideas for this site, if you guys give me a place to post them?

as far as I'm aware there's no rule against setting up a thread to discuss improving the site. ultimately it's not us who can put it into action though. it has to go through Tania and the other admins. I'm currently talking to her about a couple of things I think would increase activity here. what are your ideas?
also, regarding the freestyle thing, what are you looking to improve on? feel free to PM me or hit my profile with a msg any time if you have questions. and if you wanna battle then drop something at me & I'll get back at it when I have time. If I remember, you only dropped 4 lines against me in the other thread & I usually ignore those (no offense) because it doesn't really get anything going... -
Yeah I'll edit on to that and add it, no offense taken man I get what you mean. I'll definitely hit you up though, you guys have some good flow, and I like the word-play you use. I was thinking to get more activity going like if you post a thread and want some feedback on it, you have to critique two other threads, and then put the links in your post so we know that you actually did it, then people will start to give feedback on yours. Just a thought though.

Yeah I'm a member of other sites which do that, but it's a 2 headed beast. In theory it seems like it would work, and for some members it does; but for a lot of other members having to keep linking everything whenever they want to post something is apparently too much work and they'll find other websites where you don't have to do that. I personally have no problem with the system itself as I give as much feedback as I can to whatever posts request it.
However, we have to keep in mind that ATL is different from those other sites in that it is way more relaxed about feedback and battling/cyphers.. like there is no voting system here, no winner or loser, just an unspoken system based on respect. If we introduce more formal systems of operation (like providing links) then that relaxed atmosphere may be lost, or damaged.
I definitely think we should be encouraging feedback on everything, but I would much rather see that done out of respect and a sense of community around here than because of enforced rules, if you know what I mean. Perhaps, instead of providing links of other feedback you have given we could reverse it. So, when you give feedback you can provide a link to your work for a "return the favour" kind of deal. This also has it's drawbacks, though, as you'll get a lot of people giviing half-@assed feedback just because they feel obliged.Last edited by Venomonology; 10-13-2012 at 11:37 AM.

Agreed man, either way you approach it, it's going to be a dual-edged sword. This place does seem to be pretty laid back, and you guys seem to get some pretty good respect around here, so I think I'll like it here. Just seems like a friendly place to come and rap it out, I haven't really seen anyone with hard feelings or people getting upset about something. I'm pretty excited to start writing and posting some stuff up, hopefully feedback will help me improve, and me giving feedback can help others. Feedback should definitely be encouraged though, it helps everyone, even the person giving it!
