Marie Laforêt has been singing since end of the sixties, I believe, "La Tendresse" was her first big success. This one came later: composed by André Popp..
She also made a career as an actress and has been living in Switzerland since 1978.*

    * Done, Pawel!

[QUOTE=amaryn;974460]Apart from Jacques Brel another of the Big Poets of the 70's and 80's was Leo Ferré.

This is his JEWEL: "As Time Passes": "Avec Le Temps": Masterpiece!

    As Time Passes

As Time Passes, all passes away
one forgets the face and the voice
the heart, when it has stopped beating,
makes it easy not to go searching any further
one can find peace and it's good that way.

as time passes, all passes away,
the one you adored so much and you searched for in the rain,
the one you seem to recognize with one look,
in between words in between lines and underneath the make up
    as time passes, everything disappears....

Faites vos jeux! Moi, ce soir, je choisis ça:

Lara Fabian & Patrick Fiori - Hymne à l'amour (Artist: Edith Piaf)

Translation (but the meaning of the song can be read in their eyes )

Released in 2002 in the context of the 11/9 and war in Afghanistan:

Two different voices, two different lives, two different places... ending the same way for the same "reasons".

Feront toujours de nous de la chair à canon

Whenever I see the lyrics in Corsican I can't help feeling it's a bit like Creole - a pan-romance language, encompassing different Romance languages in it! However, I'm also happy when Corsica's trademark band I Muvrini sings in French.

Elle est trop froide pour moi, mais elle est tres belle malgre toute sa froidure (d'origine germanique?), elle a un intellect aussi.

    Resultat: Une personnalité complète
