    Love life

    I love you less than you, I think, have loved me,
    I like you less than you must find is due;
    forgive me, I have found your autumn-orchard
    of lesser beauty than I thought I would.

    The birds are leaving, and I long to join them,
    to join the bells and those whom they salute;
    but love you gave, and I would be a coward
    if I did not make love to you this once.

    Father

    Against this gentle shoulder
    I would cry anyday,
    this warm, weathered cheek
    is mine to press against.
    The eyes are always smiling,
    and most when mine are not;
    when hope has lost her meaning,
    and creeping comes the night,
    the cold wind of fears
    is not, when I can press
    my shaking chest against yours,
    my heart against your heart.

    The rain is cold tonight...
    I may, may I not?

    Drip, drip

    Drip, drip
    come gently, spring
    from withered leaves of hope,
    November rain, to claim your prize -
    the longing hearts of men;
    kiss them with your sweet decay,
    love them till they die,
    their ashes sprinkle in the woods,
    then rest, sleep and wait.

    Drip, drip
    come gently, Spring,
    on budding leaves of hope;
    this grey decay
    you may, come May
    turn green, red, and blue.

    Love me

    I'm dying
    and the world with me
    love me, while I live!

    If death is lonely
    why should life
    be lonelier still?

    The trees are burning.
    I can feel
    the smoke in the air.
    All I ask
    is love me now
    while I still can breathe,
    while I still feel,
    my lips are warm,
    my eyes can caress yours.

    Death will come
    and we will burn
    but let us burn with love
    before the flames
    turn ash to ash
    and dust to dust;
    I'm dying!

    All I ask of you
    is love;
    love, while we can.

    But not heavy metal, eh? ;p It doesn't feel "heavy" to me, it feels normal.

    It maybe should not, but it never ceases to fascinate me how happy people generally are to stay in shallow waters. As a kid, I used to watch with fascination as people sat and talked about "la pluie et le beau temps" (small talk) and I'd wonder what on earth was so interesting that they could go on talking about it forever. Over the years, I've slowly come to understand that they prefer things that way... Which they, obviously, are free to do, and no fault in it, it's very human.

    For my part, I simply cannot feel engaged and interested unless words are being used to probe the deepest, most fundamental parts of existence. Can't help it... It's simply the way my brain/soul/heart/whatever is wired, and has always been. I have been called an "old soul", whatever that means; all I know is, I've always been this way. It isn't better or worse than anything else, but it would seem to be very different from most people. Can't help it, nor would I want to

    Hi, OrchestraInside!

    In "Love life" I have a question: what do you refer to when talking about the autumn orchard? Is it a symbol of ageing? Or is it something else?

    Otherwise I join VivaPalestina in my comment: I find especially Love life and Father impressive

    Good question. I don't think when I write. It's probably about the final quarter of life, seeing it all soon come to an end - whether for an individual, or a group, or a culture, or an entire species, or a planet - a solar system - a galaxy - a universe. So it's probably a symbol of the waning of life, something akin to the Fourth Age of Middle-Earth; not quite the end, but quite likely the last age, a "lesser son of greater sires".

    Thanks :-)

    P.S. Douglas Adams: "Life is like a grapefruit. It's orange and squishy, has a few pips in it, and some folks have half a one for breakfast."

    It's much easier to talk about the weather than poverty.It's easier to pay the tax rather than to find out what it's being spent on.Taking the easy way out seems to be THE way to go,now a days.Deep thinkers are often mocked by people who would rather "follow the leader".

    ...I sometimes find myself wishing I could feel interested in what everyone else is interested in - for the companionship. To enjoy discussing weather rather than whither - for social animals we are... whether we want to or not.

    Taking the easy way out seems to be THE way to go nowadays.

    It always was, Doug... And likely always will be, as long as we remain human. Life as we know it:

    We dance and party hard and long,
    go high, go low, turn right, turn wrong;
    the doors are shut, there is no key
    and no one cares apart from me...
    we call this life.

    The Falling

    The storks drop us
    in the clouds
    we
    fall
    down
    through the skies;
    our life
    the blink of an eye
    as
    we
    fall
    towards
    the ground.

    Just long enough
    to wonder
    "Why?"

    Just long enough
    to love
    and cry;

    just long enough
    to find the peace
    of a wave
    headed ashore.

    Obituary

    Hope Nadya Espoir
    left us yesterday,
    she left behind her sister,
    Faith Vera Foi.

    Faith Vera Foi
    left us yesterday,
    she left behind her sister,
    Love Lyuba Amoir.

    Love Lyuba Amoir
    passed away today;
    she left behind this darkness,
    this loneliness and pain.

    Suicide Line

    I swim below
    the suicide line
    drowning in
    the sea of life.

    While I breathe, I hope;
    once I don't, I won't.

    They Love

    They cry for love,
    lost or found;
    they try to love,
    sick or sound.

    I alone
    am dry in the eyes;
    for I alone
    never loved or tried.

    It's hard to believe you don't think what/while you write,lol: you just move your hand as commanded by ???????
    Strange, it seems Zakynthos does that too- he has a special name for it....can't remember right now.
    However: love the Suicide Line bit.
    So short, and it's all there. I love that

    When I was a strict Christian in the days of my youth, I used to think it was the Holy Spirit commanding my hand.

    Nowadays, I'm more inclined to think it's something in the depths of my subconscious mind. But do I know for certain?
